When I walked up, the lady taking orders was on her phone and didn't really acknowledge me -- no greeting, just handed me a menu. When I started ordering, she seemed a little annoyed and told the person on the phone to "hang on," which made things feel a bit awkward. I also asked a couple of simple questions, like how long the brisket was smoked, but she didn't know. As for the food -- it was kind of a mixed bag: * Brisket: Tender, but didn't have much smoke flavor or a smoke ring. * Pulled Pork: A bit on the dry side. * Smoked Turkey & Sausage: My favorites! The turkey was super moist and the sausage had a great snap with a nice little kick to it. * Ribs: Went with the baby backs since they didn't have spare ribs. They were okay but a bit tough. I've seen the owner in videos and he seems super friendly and really into what he does. I wish he had been there when I stopped by -- a few of my friends went when he was around and said he was awesome to talk to and really knew his stuff. They also mentioned their pulled pork was a little dry too, so maybe that's just something they're still dialing in. One last thing -- the menu said the meal came with a side of BBQ sauce, but I didn't get one. Not a huge deal, just something I noticed. Overall, Nini's BBQ has potential! The macaroni and cheese is overcooked and mushy and a cheese sauce, tastes water down, I would say it taste like Pollo Locos mac & cheese, which is downright diabolical. The crust was perfectly cooked in the wood-fired oven, and you could really taste the freshness and quality of the ingredients. Every bite was full of flavor!
