My friend and I sat outside and ordered sandwiches--what they specialize in. The service was the fasted we received so far. Staff was friendly. I ordered the filet sandwich and a shrimp pastry similar to an empanada. Both were delicious--what stood out was the bread. Definitely check out this little spot if you are in the Copacabana area of Rio!

Service was fast, the drinks kept flowing, and the staff was amazing--they even happily strengthened my husband's drink on request. As an African-American traveler, Brazil can sometimes feel unwelcoming, but the staff here made us feel completely at ease and at home. The next day, our server even recognized us, waved, smiled, and greeted us on the sidewalk. Absolutely wonderful. Highly recommend.

The views and the location could not be beat. You buy the ticket from the counter and then head on inside to take the cable car which takes you up first to Morro de Urca and then Pao de Azuca (Sugarloaf mountain). You literally can choose to spend however much time you want at either spot although i think most people stay at Urca longer because the view is clearer and its more spacious. The first stop lets you take in the beautiful city views and the second stop is literally in the skies so you will see the misty skies and take in the whole city from the top while admiring nature at its best. I also had the best chocolate churro here so that added to the sweetness of the spot. My favorite spot in Rio and i cant wait to go back one day.

Since the escalators were being repaired it was a nice climb up all the flights of stairs to reach the base of the statue. There was one functional elevator but limited to those requiring assistance only. No views were available so will have to return for the panoramas of Rio. The fog unfortunately was thick so couldn't see the details but there was an ethereal appearance. I also joined a mass in the chapel at the base of the statue and that was a unique experience. It was conducted in both Portuguese and Spanish when the father found out there was a majority of Spanish speaking visitors. Will be returning to revisit in better weather next time.

The caldinho de feijão, essentially a cup of black bean "soup", was served with chicharrones and was so flavorful, I could have had a whole bowl of it.
