2nd Street Floors - New Flooring in Kitchen

    2nd Street Floors

His entire crew was amazing, from those who did the demo to the installation crew. They fixed our subfloor which had numerous issues and did the job right. I'd definitely hire them again and recommend them to others.

Thinking about having 2nd Street install your hardwood floors? Highly recommend you look somewhere…read moreelse. We had hardwood flooring installed in our den and it was a nightmare from the get-go. Measurements were way off. Two extra boxes of flooring and ~40 feet of 1/4 round. When asked about what to do with the 2 boxes of flooring (that we paid for), was told "you can sell it on eBay". Really? Then there was the installation crew. No one spoke English so any questions I had resulted in blank stares. These were not W-2 employees but sub-contractors. This crew stained the 1/4 round us and it wasn't even close to matching the new flooring. And then there was the damage to the new flooring during installation. The large staple gun that was used to "nail" the flooring was placed dozens of times on the previously installed flooring leaving nail head size indentations across the entire floor. And then there was the "customer service". Made appointment with Ackerman (the owner?) to inspect the damage and he never showed up, he didn't call, text, or email that he was going to make it. During one of numerous calls, asked Jessica to have Ackerman call us. She emailed me that she couldn't get him to talk to us. But to be honest, full discloser: 2nd Street is giving us $40 for the 1/4 round. Bottom-line: we will never use 2nd Street again and will never recommend them to anyone.

We had as a sales person Dr. Elbert Gaiooer a man who purports to have a Doctorate in Divinity. He lied to us about the contract. We Talked to Leslie Burnett, the sales Manager, about their salesperson and the contract who lied to us about both the salesperson and the contract. The installers, in removal of our old carpet, caused a tripping hazard in the transition between the carpet and the kitchen. We have communicated with an Install manager who has lied to us about the repair of this hazard. The person who showed up 2 hours and 30 minutes late and spoke no English. He also tried to repair the problem by putting down tape where the transition was. They are not reliable and want their money in advance, so there is no recourse for the customer. Do not do business with this company because they are unreliable. The state board of Professional and Occupational Regulation should review all of the contracts this company has entered into with customers. Let the buyer beware. Don't buy from this company. We have since putchased a new transition ($55.99). We will purchase the cement to install it today. Empire Today has not paid for the repair. Edited.

We couldn't keep staying in hotels, so we were forced to move back in and terminate that contract. At the time, our toilette was literally in our living room, only ~30% flooring was laid down, and it turned out to be a mix of extremely cheap wood and (believe it or not) used boards they pulled up from a different project. Alvarado was the company - avoid them! We really did our homework this second time before choosing who to turn to, and we choose Haywood. Not only did they fit us in earlier than expected, and worked extra hours to get it done for us, but they did such an amazing job you couldn't tell the difference between the horrible work the first company had started (that they had to patch up heavily) and the new flooring they brought in. My wife and I were (and remain) completely amazed at what they were able to do, the really hard work the Haywood team put in, and the incredible results - its all seamless and beautiful looking throughout. Definitely recommend them for anyone who is looking for a professional and reliable team to take care of installing hardwood floors at a fantastic price.

An absolutely fantastic company…read more Haywood restored my really old heart pine floors. They made two hundred year old wood glisten without removing the character and history. Haywood also installed a new floor in a room that previously had nasty carpet in it. The new floor is also heart pine, reclaimed from a barn or warehouse, and they also refinished some floors that were about twenty years old. They did incredibly nice work, but they also are really nice people. They showed respect for my property with such things as making certain the gates were always secured to contain my dogs and letting me know what things were taking place each day, in case I needed to get something from a room that would be out of order for a while for product drying. The team working at my house, Wes, Frank, and Seth, are not technicians, but rather true craftsmen using decades of cumulative skills to deliver a perfect project, on time, and within budget. I will use Haywood again.
