Seeing as I found this office for my wife to care for her while she is pregnant with our first child, it is only fitting that I write the review based on my experience, and what she feels as well.
My wife was assigned to Dr. Rye Estepp as her OB for the pregnancy.
My wife typically scheduled her appointments for Mondays. Every time from our first visit at 6 weeks, until her most recent visit at 32 weeks, the wait time in the waiting room is 25-40 minutes on a good day, to over 1+ hours now. It feels as though they are constantly over booking and there is little to no sitting room during their busiest mornings.
Our nurse during our first few visits was very friendly and pleasant, but the nurse who replaced her for the second half is not.
Dr. Rye Estepp is either so out of touch with her patients, or so overbooked and overwhelmed she cannot keep up with her workload, that she mistook my pregnant wife (of approximately 16 weeks at the time) for a patient who was in for a pap smear. My wife had come in for her 4th visit and Dr. Estepp walked in and asked my wife why she was not undressed for a pap smear. My wife, obviously not there for a pap smear, told her that she was here for her pregnancy checkup, and Dr. Estepp, visibly confused blamed it on the wrong folder and left. I have not been able to go to the appointments since around March I believe, but then and now my wife feels that Dr. Estepp does not know my wife personally enough to know her pregnancy. Most appointments, she does not give any answers, suggestions, things to expect or look forward to, unless YOU ask. We are having a baby boy and we asked about the health benefits or cons of circumcision, and she simply replied she didn't know and wasn't the best person to ask about it, it's our preference. Disgraceful. 90% of this pregnancy we have learned more from Google or Youtube than this doctor.
This is a HUGE part of me having to write this review. At 27 weeks on March 30th, my wife took her blood glucose test to check for gestational diabetes. They said this test would be complete in a few days. We did not hear from the doctor until about 8 days later on April 6th when they told her she came back with potential gestational diabetes. They said they were going to schedule her a glucose test appointment at Regional One For High Risk Pregnancies and this appointment was not even SCHEDULED until April 20th, and it was for 3 days later giving my wife little to no notice to adjust her work schedule.
Now, we've been calling for several days trying to get my wife's 35 week ultrasound. She has not had an ultrasound since approximately 26 weeks and at that time, the baby was in the breech position. My wife went at 32 weeks for a follow-up and let the doctor know she needed to reschedule with the glucose and would like her final ultrasound, and the doctor told her that the blood glucose people would have to do it from now on and monitor the baby, basically meaning she would not give my wife an ultrasound. We called immediately after leaving the doctors office to reschedule the glucose appointment, only to be given a CONSULT a month away from that day, putting my wife at 35 1/2 weeks pregnant (No ultrasound or anything). When we called today and spoke to Dr. Estepps nurse, my wife was audibly upset due to the fact this doctor's office has made this pregnancy so difficult on her, and the nurse on the other end (Callie i believe) hung up in my wife's face before the conversation even ended.
Some of this review is an absolute fact, and some is mine and my wife's opinion. I do not know how the other doctor here is, but I truly believe you should find a smaller doctors office for a more personal, intimate doctor/patient relationship where you and your family are valued as people, and not a doctors chart. read more
