TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE…read more I am very dissatisfied with how my case was handled. After finally reaching an agreement with the opposing counsel, they refused to honor the agreement. Unfortunately, Mr O'Connor did nothing to see that the agreement was honored; he made absolutely no effort on my behalf. This could have been resolved in my favor during the final court hearing however, Mr. O'Connor did not bother to show up in court that day for the hearing. In addition to mishandling my case, Mr. O'Connor's behavior toward me was utterly repugnant. While we were preparing for the hearing, Mr. O'Connor was extremely impatient and condescending. When I hired him I told him that I had never been in court before and had no idea what to expect. Rather than explain what the Judge's expectations would be, how best to answer questions, and walking me through the process, he belittled me and even yelled at me. Mr. O'Connor turned a situation that was stressful and upsetting to begin with into a complete nightmare. I have placed this review in the past and removed it each time due to threats from Mr O'Connor. I feel that it is my right to share my negative experience with this law firm, however, Mr O'Connor has threatened to sue me for defamation of character if I do not remove this bad review. I am not removing it this time because everything I have mentioned in my review is true Mr O'Connor was very rude to me while handling my case and he did not achieve the results he promised me, my experience overall was a negative one. Based on my personal experience, I would not recommend this law firm to anyone else. The fact that Mr O'Connor threatens me every time I have tried to leave this account of my personal experience with him as my lawyer just adds to my negative experience with this law firm.

I've had the good fortune of having Matt represent me in both criminal and civil cases…read more Upon my first meeting with Mr. O'Connor, I was quickly impressed. Everyone should aspire to be as empathetic as he is. Matt understands you're not a client or a number. You are a person. No matter what you're going through, it's not the world's largest problem. But, it's the largest problem in your world. Matthew recognizes this. Sometimes people make mistakes. And most times, there is a price to pay for those mistakes. Mr. O'Connor will be upfront about that. He will want to know every minute detail of your case. When he hears something that may have violated your rights, you will see him look up from his note-taking, his eyebrows will rise, and his wide open eyes will ignite. Matt despises injustice. As the accused, you are a trophy and/or revenue to an extremely long list of corporations and people who derive their income from your conviction. Matt knows he's all you have. His methodical, but out of the box approach to my case achieved optimum results. At the O'Connor Law Office you may notice pictures of both Robert Kennedy and Muhammed Ali. I believe that combination epitomizes Matt. Like Kennedy, he's a believer in our justice system, as long as everyone gets treated equally. You will understand his skill as an arbitrator when you see his interaction with those in a courtroom. Bailiffs, fellow attorneys, prosecutors, clerks, judges...everyone. He is widely respected and liked. It's probably rare the Ali side of Matthew needs to come out. But when your anxiety levels are at its peak, there'll be no greater comfort knowing that when you bust through those courtroom doors, that the smartest guy in the room is in your corner.

My husband and I were involved in an auto accident with a negligent inebriated driver last…read moreDecember, and as I began researching legal representation for our injuries, I found that I was overwhelmed with the choices available. There are a lot of advertising injury attorneys out there. Out of the ones I consulted with, I was impressed with my conversation with Kevin McManus. He had a caring personality and a sense of humor. He shares his office with his sister, Bridget, who was in fact our direct legal council. She was nice and courteous with contacting us and answering any questions when the paralegals didn't have the answer. Communication was prompt and often through a quick text with detailed information. The office uses an informative application to handle the litigation process and for most laypeople who don't understand what the law office is and isn't responsible for, the application conveys and outlines what steps come next. There are pamphlets with detailed answers to most common questions. From the moment we retained services with McManus Law until our settlement, the total period was about eight months. The settlement amount was surly more than I actually imagined. Looking back, I would encourage anyone to retain McManus law or an injury attorney in general for an auto accident or work injury because the settlement is not one that someone could negotiate with the insurance company on their own. The only issue that I have is that in retrospect, there was some question about whether or not a letter was ever sent on our behalf to a particular medical billing office. I was told that they sent information to the medical billing offices notifying that both me and my husband were being represented. However, I was told that they could not promise whether or not a medical office would send our bills to a collector, and that we may consider paying the bills or submitting them through our insurance. At some point I had one of their paralegals contact the physical therapist billing office to inform them of representation and she had informed me that this was something that I had to do, and they didn't. Once I contacted the law office, they apologized and explained how she didn't handle this well. The billing unfortunately at the Physical Therapy office was not handled correctly either, on their end they had submitted my bill to our medical insurance. The billing should have been handled through the Physical Therapy Accident department. Once settlement was reached, I was told by my attorney that I would have to contact the billing office for the physical therapy and handle the remaining amount since it was billed through our insurance, and what our insurance had paid was reimbursed directly from the attorney's office through settlement. I later contacted the physical therapy billing office and discovered the first bill wasn't ever submitted through any insurance, and I had to pay it now? They informed me that my attorney should have sent a letter requesting bills be held until settlement. I wondered and thought back to that paralegal. I only wonder whether this letter sent a letter by my attorney (or should have been paralegal) was ever sent to the correct department to offset any bills until after settlement. I am sure that McManus law had sent this letter, but just don't know because of how the paralegal had told me early on this was something that I had to handle and discuss with those billers on my own. So, it makes me wonder if the correct bill rep for accidents ever received this letter. I tried being proactive with my case, but there is only so much one can do.

To Whom It May Concern, or anyone thanking to use this attorney office…read more I am writing to formally express my serious concern and disappointment regarding how my matter was handled by your office. My case was verbally accepted, confirmed in writing, and supported by a signed retainer agreement. Based on those representations, I reasonably relied on your firm to represent me. I ceased pursuing alternative counsel and operated under the understanding that my legal matter was actively being handled. After several months, I received notice that your firm would no longer be representing me. Acceptance of representation -- particularly when accompanied by a signed retainer agreement -- establishes a professional obligation. A delayed withdrawal after months of reliance has the potential to prejudice a client's legal position and materially impact deadlines, strategy, and available remedies. Additionally, the extended period of communication prior to and during representation created the clear understanding that my case was being properly evaluated and pursued. If there were concerns regarding viability, scope, or internal review processes, those should have been communicated transparently and in a timely manner. The prolonged delay, followed by withdrawal, created unnecessary hardship and confusion. Clients rely heavily on the representations made by counsel, especially when formal agreements are executed. Furthermore, your public advertising suggests strong advocacy and commitment to individuals seeking representation. My experience, however, has left me questioning whether cases are prioritized primarily based on projected financial value rather than merit and circumstance. At the end of the day if they feel your case is not value of thousands or millions don't waste you time with this worthless fly by night so call with the words of "I got this" yea you got nothing.. After I see all the reviews I will say any the good 3 stars or better is more likely is a paid review or someone work for the company
