I just had a wonderful massage from Chelsea at SafeHaven. After racing in LOTOJA (200 mile bike…read morerace) this past weekend I developed a tightness in my neck that got worse and worse in the 5 days following the 9.5 hours of Hell on a bicycle. I didn't have time to drive down to SLC to see my regular therapist so I decided to find something closer to my office, and I'm so glad I did! Chelsea was able to work the mess of knots that was my neck and I'm back to feeling normal again. She's a definite professional and her years of experience show through in her skill. It's not a fancy spa.No mints, no heated face towels, and no $15 surcharge for deep tissue (which is the only massage any serious runner/cyclist should consider). I've wasted my fair share of money on sub-par massage therapists, but I'm pleased to give Chelsea my highest recommendations. I hope to be back soon and regularly.

I have to qualify this review by mentioning that I have seen a number of massage therapists (more…read morethan 20) through the years. Rachel rates among the best that I have been to. She is friendly, knowledgeable, thorough, adaptive, and reasonably priced. I have been to her 3 or 4 times in the past couple months and have made her my primary care taker in the massage field. I have some pretty deep, chronic issues that are unusual. Rachel has been good at sensing the root of the issues and using great amounts of pressure, and techniques to help loosen up the muscles that plague me. One of the things that puts Rachel on a pedestal for me is that she is adaptive to my needs. I also see a physical therapist. My physical therapist has me doing a particular stretch that I find very beneficial but I wanted to combine my stretch with Rachel. It was something that Rachel had never done before, but she was open to accommodate my request, which has helped more than stretching alone (similar to what Thai massage would do). I highly recommend Rachel.

I have real problem between by shoulders and it's hard to pop my back in that area. She was able to get that area popped and that was a blessing in itself.
