I could not be more dissatisfied with their service, which they told me was excellent at the time of purchase. We've had to take each one that we purchased back for service. They stayed for extended periods when we needed them for our use. The reason we were given for the long duration was that they simply did not have personnel to service them, as we were told when we purchased. In good conscience, I could not recommend them at all for service and would stay away, as we have learned.

My husband and I made a trip from Lexington to this store yesterday. We were interested in buying a…read more6 passenger golf cart. Wes told us right off the bat that he would have to build one for us. Which is what we wanted and knew. We went there because it is "Custom". He took us out to the front to show us a 6 passenger golf cart which he said had more features than we would want. First off, we had not told him what features we wanted so how did he know. We did tell him it was for neighborhood riding. He took us to the cart and then just stood there. If we had not asked questions we would have stood in complete silence. We asked a few questions which he answered without elaborating. It was obvious he was not interested in making a sale. It was one of the most awkward moments of my life. We asked about cost and he told us. We felt their prices were very good. If he had acted like he was interested in making a sale I'm sure we would have bought one. We left there and ended up buying a new 6 passenger cart from another dealer. Will be happy to show our receipt if Custom Golf Carts does not believe us. We went with high hopes because of all the great reviews, and we left totally disappointed.

We had an issue with the carts (on both the stitching on the seats started to come undone), but when we called we were never really given any assistance. Finally, we sent an email to the owner, Stephen Shealy, and in August 2022 he responded that he would order a replacement seat. From August 2022 until May 2023, we never heard another word. We called a few times to check on the status of the seat, but we were not able to speak with Mr. Shealy and no one else could give us any information. Obviously, we have given up on this company and have found another business in the area who is helping us with our issues.

***BUYER BEWARE*** I purchased a golf cart and specifically asked if the batteries were new. I was…read moretold everything on the cart was "re-done" and new. I immediately had problems and contacted them. They just kept telling me other things I needed to buy. Finally, feeling desperate, I called the manufacturer of the batteries and they told me how to find the date stamp. Turns out, the batteries I was told were "new" were five years old and had no life left in them when I purchased them. I spoke to the owner, Kevin Stillinger, (respectfully giving him the opportunity to "right this wrong") and he refused unless I paid $150 for him to pick up the cart, another $150 to bring it back and then pay for whatever they diagnose the problem to be. I have opened a complaint with the South Carolina Better Business Bureau for unethical business dealings. Palmetto Kustom Kartz saw me as an "easy target" because I am a woman, they lied to me about the batteries, and didn't like that I called the manufacturer to find out the truth. This business practices fraudulent dealings and refuses to stand by their employees word. #CORRUPT.

I am very satisfied with the purchase of a used golf cart. When I called to ask if they had any…read moregas-powered ones the woman who answered the call transferred me to MJ, who was a wonderful sales person. He gave me a lot of detailed information on one he had in the shop that was ready to go. I'd called around a lot of other places and knew his price was one of the lowest for that year and model. No one else gave any details on the phone they just would give a price and say they had one. So my husband and I went out there and MJ let us test drive the cart and offered some suggestions on things to swap out so that it would handle our somewhat steep path to the dock. He impressed me with how much he knew about the carts. My husband asked some technical questions, and he had all the answers. The cart was ready by the end of the week, much earlier than expected. We have had it for a month now and it's been great. Our experience with this shop has been outstanding. And the receptionist was very pleasant to me on the phone so I'm not sure if she's the same one that other seem to be complaining about. I can only speak from my experience.
