Rutter Mills is one of the top personal injury attorney firms in Coastal Virginia. I didn't contact them when I had my traumatic & life changing car injury in 2014. I wish I had. I wanted a firm that had an attorney I knew. After retaining that firm I learned that the attorney I knew had retired and was referring his cases to a new associate, who also eventually left. Handling my case then was a partner. I've since learned that the father of one of my son's children's theatre friends was an attorney at Rutter Mills. I feel certain he would have given my case the attention it deserved. And I'm also sure he would have known how to handle my emotions during depositions when I would cry because of the part of my life that was forever changed and the fact that the accident killed my beloved dog. The firm I hired recommended I settle for less than I deserved & had lost because the process was so upsetting for me. Rutter Mills handled the case of a former theater kid after his wife was killed in an automobile accident. I feel certain his case must have been gone so well because of the attorney we had both known so long. Should I ever have the need for a personal injury attorney firm again, I would certain retain Rutter Mills despite the fact that my friend has recently retired. read more

Rutter Mills - Personal Injury Law Near Me - Norfolk, Virginia

This experience has been incredibly disappointing and emotionally exhausting for my family. When you hire a lawyer, you're trusting them to fight for you and protect your best interests during one of the most difficult times in your life. Unfortunately, that's not how we felt throughout our case. Instead of feeling supported, I felt like I constantly had to ask questions, follow up, and even uncover problems on my own. Finding out that certain things hadn't been done after being told they had was heartbreaking and made it very difficult to trust the process. I understand that law firms handle many clients, and I never expected constant updates. What I did expect was honesty. If there were delays or setbacks, I would have appreciated being told the truth instead of feeling like I was being misled. More than anything, I felt like my family's best interests came second. We deserved someone who would genuinely fight for us and treat our case with the care and attention it deserved. This experience added unnecessary stress to an already painful situation, and I hope no other family has to feel the same disappointment that we did. read more

Amazing legal staff and quality service! I would reccomend to any family or friends! Best lawfirm in Virginia for a reason!

Very welcoming I'm very consistent in keeping you informed of your case. They did a wonderful job when I filed my claim on a person who hit me while he was drunk, Rutter Mills Law stepped in and helped me close my case, and got me more than what the insurance company was trying to pay me so great job. Thank you. read more

This firm promised a lot of action and was hired to help my other half win her social security disability case. They failed on so many levels from inattention to the case details, lack of solid informative communications, to just downright lack of experience in this field. The firm is superficially lacking in talent and effort. I would recommend you steer clear of them, we wasted a couple of years listening to excuses and failures. I recommend a different firm because of thier incompetent behavior. read more

I was in a accident with a client from USAA. I choose this law firm to represent me. USAA mailed my settlement on 3\6 Ritter Mills received it 3\13 I went to the office 3\23. Kim Avant was so rude to me. After leaving I called to speech with a Manager somehow Kim found out I was calling she called back apologizing. If I wouldn't have went there nothing would've been done. She spoke bad about her colleagues Lindsay not doing her job. I would never visit this practice again nor refer anyone. Kim said workman comp told her it was only 1 particular person she could speak with and they were out of the office. I called the exact same day and they said they DID NOT KNOW I EVEN HAD A ATTORNEY. She is rude and didn't do nothing for me but have attitude even on the phone. Never Again read more

The Rutter Mills , Attorney Law Firm address is 160 W Brambleton Ave, Noffolk, VA, 23510. Their law firm calling representatives were absolutely amazing and should be valued a lot more . On July 27,2022, their law firm had sent me other law firm numbers for my case because I was told that this firm could not help my case. The other lawyers and attorneys from the other law firm's had some of the worst attitudes ever . Then I was told from other lawyers and attorney's that the Rutter Mills Law Firm company could take my case incidence if they really wanted to. read more

Very hard to talk to the receptionist, she doesn't listen to my question, she wants me to listen to hers.

Rutter Mills has done an amazing job on my case where a car ran into the back of us while we were sitting at a read light. They were able to settle all the cases before going to court. Mr. Young my lawyer and Ms. Kathy his assistant always kept me in the loop about my case and what was going on. They always a answered ant questions that I had. I wouldn't trade them for anything in the world! read more

I was injured at work. The attorneys that handle worker's comp claims we're so amazing. They explained everything to me and we're very helpful. They took all my information and I didn't have to do anything. They were able to secure more money than other attorneys quoted to me. After that was settled I needed social security disability. The attorneys at Rutter Mills are working hard to settle that claim. I am receiving my disability checks but the attorney wasn't happy with the amount. They are very good at taking care of their clients like family. read more

Adam Lotkin and Selena have provided me with immaculate service . They set my mind at ease from the beginning and have basically held my hand through it all . I am extremely confident in this team and I will forever fall back to them if I need anything . Very trustworthy and honest . read more

This law firm is a joke! They sat and did nothing on a personal injury case I was supposed to be "represented " on. The lawyer Joe Young is terrible and only kept telling me " it is what it is" so to speak. I received no communication at all unless I called and demanded a call back and then it was from no one that was familiar with the case. I was constantly told I had to figure things out especially in my medical care and was sent to an insurance factory doctor office for nothing and finally told he could not help me. I finally went to my doctor and was told I had to have surgery. I was fed up and emailed Mr. Rutter and was then told to kick rocks. This was an accident where I was run into by a teenage girl and this firm was crap! This firm has no core values and only wants a hand out at the end. To anyone wanting good representation.... look elsewhere this place DOES NOT do what they advertise, it's quite the opposite. Waste of time! read more

Joseph Young represented me for my personal injury case. He and his team went above and beyond my expectations.

Rob Gillikin - Very nice lawyer. Has a good heart to helping me through a long, dreaded period of bureaucracy with the VA

Very unprofessional and unorganized. Mr. Slaughter is a very nice man, but his administrative team is terrible. From the pre-lit paralegal to paralegal- nothing was explained, nobody contacted me unless I left at least 3 voicemails, documents were lost and emails had to be constantly resent before being confirmed. My case (car accident) took over two years and had to be rescheduled because the paralegal didn't obtain all the medical records/ bills in time. I requested an appointment with the paralegal before my second court date to go over medical bills since I kept my own record and still found many gaps in her file. I wanted to take the file and just organize it myself. I did receive a settlement but half of it is being held in escrow to pay off the medical bills that were not already paid for- that was 4 months ago! Since then I have paid off all the medical bills that Rutter Mills was supposed to pay and have left multiple voicemails about getting the money from escrow. I still haven't gotten a response. If I didn't pay these bills out of pocket, they would have gone to collections. In the end, I'll never go back here just to do all the work myself, while giving up 20% of my settlement. read more

I had a social security disability case with Mr Robert Gillikin. He did not submit all my medical records. I found out thru social security examiners. I dropped my lawyer less than 2 months on case. I was told by lawyer they are still going to Bill me 25percent fee. I am going to dispute fee and contact the state bar association. I contacted my lawyer and offered to pay for time they worked on my case but lawyer declined. In a hardship situation and they are making it worse for me. Still waiting for social security disability but if approved lawyer is taking 25percent. Not fair bad choice for choosing Ruttermills. read more
