Kyle cut my hair, When I showed up for my 12:15 appointment I was greeted with "I've been ready since 12". I asked Kyle to get the hair off my ears and raise the back off my neck. I sensed he was struggling to do as I ask but when he started trimming my top, I said something. He tried to justify it by saying he was blending but why does getting hair off my neck and ears require blending my hair on top of my head? He took as much as 2 inches in some areas. I am now stuck trying to keep my short hair out of my face for the next 5 weeks, even with hair product. Despite my last name, I'm not a professional Barber, but I've been getting this head of mine cut for over 67 years and know when I'm not getting what I ask for. Pleasant atmosphere I've had my haircut here several times before but was a little disappointed this time. I walked in with hair almost to my shoulders, wanting to get it, trimmed up and heat it up and maybe styled a little bit so I didn't look like a wild man And I walked out with what comes close to a military haircut. I was surprised to learn that my barber had approximately one year experience I expected in a place like this that I would have barbers with five or 10 years experience. The barber is definitely skilled gave me a great tailored haircut unfortunately that wasn't what I was looking for. I think I would've had better luck at a chain salon. First appointment with Cody today at Rusty Razors What I noticed is You could tell right away that Cody takes great pride, time and Quality in his craft, the rest of the crew as well. Well, I used to love the rusty razor; but I will never go there again, nor tell any of my friends about this place since the owner doesn't really care about customer service at all. I asked him to help me get an appt with my Barber in response to his text in regards to their new cancellation policy and he simply told me to find a new shop... lol I've been going to that shop for almost four years now... so unprofessional. Evidently, when you start making money, you lose perspective of the way you started making bank doing what you do... the customer is the reason you make money. Sure, I express my disgust towards the policy; but I also mentioned I'd pay it and asked if he'd help me get an appointment... his answer was to stop getting my haircut there. Welp, I never will again. And if you like to get your haircut somewhere WORTH THE MONEY, where your business is valued and appreciated, ID HIGHLY RECOMMEND A DIFFERENT BARBERSHOP. I have a barber! I stopped in last month and they were all booked up, but they were highly recommended and the place looked cool, so I made an appointment the next time I was coming to Deland. I am thrilled with everything about the experience and the haircut and beard trim. Cody was friendly and professional as he took his time to make my mop look great. My beard has never been cut except when I've buzzed it. Now I know why one gets a barber to do it. It's never looked this neat and tidy. The other thing I really want to point out is the atmosphere. The shop itself is designed to be completely rustic and masculine. The walls are expose brink and rusty tin set off by lots of wood and what I assume to be antique barber chairs. This is a BARBER SHOP and would never be mistaken for a beauty salon. Smooth reggae played today, but Cody says it changes with the mood of the day, so you could find yourself there on a blues day or maybe a smooth jazz day. The atmosphere is very relaxing. I made an appointment, so when I walked in I was greeted by name (even though I've never been there). All the staff is very personable. Cody was my barber and he listened to what I was looking for (even though I was terrible at explaining it) and he gave me a beard trim and haircut that was exactly what I was looking for.
