We came to Memphis for our anniversary, and this was easily the coolest thing we have ever gotten to do together! Great, friendly, and knowledgeable staff make sure your whole experience is perfect from beginning to end. We went to a short class to learn the rules and procedures for the track and the cars, and we definitely felt prepared. We also chose to do a ride along, where we were taken for three laps by an experienced driver. It was very helpful preparation for our own driving experience, and also an incredible adrenaline rush! We were then able to drive 12 laps around the track, with no speed limit! It was such a rush, and definitely made for an exciting anniversary complete with friendly competition and adrenaline. I suggest going in the fall, as it does get pretty warm inside the suit and car (it was okay though because of course, when you're driving that's the last thing on your mind). I was given the 8 lap qualifier by my family for Father's Day last year. The past Saturday, March 15, 2014, I was finally able to go. I was in the first class of the day. Everything went smoothly. The class was excellent. They tell you everything you need to know before you go racing. I would definitely recommend purchasing the ride along with a pro before you drive. During the ride along you get to see and feel the cars in action and also notice the line that the pro drives. My ride along was awesome, a true thrill for me to see how fast these cars really go. After the ride along I immediately got to drive. The first car I went out in was fine for the first couple of laps and then had a carburetor issue. They told me to pit and they would get me back out in another car. Not only did they get me back out but let me do the entire number of laps I had purchased! If you are a race fan and want to experience driving a stock car this is definitely for you!! I do recommend that you experience the ride along with a professional driver before attempting to drive the car yourself. This will give you a good indication of what the car is actually capable of and will enhance your driving experience. The Rusty Wallace Racing Experience offers you a lot of freedom in the race car, upon attending the Driver Instruction Class which is very helpful on what you will experience on the track. I also recommend that you purchase the video which consists of a shot of you (the driver) and an in car view of the track so you can relive your experience and be better prepared as far as expectation for your next visit. I unfortunately had to wait a while for a driver suit in my size, but as a compensation for my wait was given 4 extra laps which gave me a total of 16 laps!! read more

We went on Nov 15, 2015 and had a blast. I had read both good and bad reviews so I wasn't sure what to expect. We had the 8 lap qualifier package. I must say it met and exceeded my expectations! The cars are real stock cars that will haul you know what, the instructor did a great job of teaching us the does and don't. We ended up doing the ride along with the pro that turned out beneficial as he pointed out lines, gas and braking. This was THE best anniversary present that I could have gotten for my husband! He can check driving a race car off his bucket list now. The staff was friendly, informative and made sure safety was covered from all angles (the track, the cars, the class before driving) I highly recommend checking this out if you have ever thought about it. What a great adventure we had this past weekend at Rusty Wallace Racing! The pre-race instructional class was pretty thorough and the staff was so helpful. Definitely glad we got the photos and the video...we've watched it several times already. Didn't realize there were Go-Karts on site...we will have to go back and make another day of it.
