I came across Cappiello and they came out quickly to give an estimate for our lawn care and we hired them. I called to have them come rip out some stuff and seed our lawn and they came out and did it no problem. Customer service is huge to me, and so after a phone message I received from their Coordinator explaining and sincerely apologizing for the inability to connect for that period of time- that immediately quelled my frustration with the company. It's important to be understanding and recognize that sometimes, life happens. I would still recommend Cappiello Landscaping based on their good work, and their professionalism.

As someone who recently got into lawn care myself, I found Jonathan to be very knowledgeable and confident in his expertise. His communication was timely and professional throughout the process. He completely redid my front yard using a Harley rake, graded and leveled it, and truly brought it back to life. I followed his recommendation on the seed to use, and by week two, the grass began to germinate and looks fantastic. I will definitely continue to use Making Solid Ground Lawn Care for all my lawn needs. I am adding photos of the first cut of the Fall season.

RECOMMENDATIONS: 1) Landscaping sketches should accurately reflect the size of the plants/trees…read morethat will be planted, 2) If there are issues with the work after completion and the payment has already been made, Mr. Daniele should address the issues in a timely fashion, not three seasons later, 3) Making the customer happy should always be a priority. I did my research on about three to four different landscape designers and while Mr. Daniele was one of the more expensive ones, I decided to go with him because his reviews were good and he provided a sketch of the end product and we were very pleased with the plan. The beginning of the process was smooth. Mr. Daniele was responsive and seemed knowledgeable and experienced with landscaping. The concerns started to come about the day he arrived with the plants. Some of the plants were not in the best condition, but he assured us they would bloom again before the end of the season, in which they did. But, also it was evident he was attempting to make the most profit by purchasing smaller plants (or much younger) than what was shown in the sketch. After completing his work, I noticed one of the trees was not planted straight, another tree planted is not the one that was listed in the contract, and 10 of the plants are either dying or dead. The job cost $3,400 so I expected to be completely satisfied. I reached out to Mr. Daniel and he mentioned the plants were dying due to lack of water. This is false as one of the dying plants is a few inches away from a sprinkler and all sprinkler heads were adjusted to provide adequate water for the plants. He then said he would replace the plants, but I would have to wait until spring of 2020 (as per a policy that was not noted in the contract). I do not believe it is fair to pay a few thousands of dollars for a landscaping project and have to wait almost a year for it to be properly completed. Also, Mr. Daniele would not mention anything about the slanted tree or the tree that was quoted in the contract but not delivered. I am guessing we would have to wait until the spring for those as well. Overall, I am dissatisfied with the outcome of the project and regret not going with another company.

In the end, I wound up asking those family members what they were thinking with these guys. The price was right, but it turned out to be one of those you get what you pay for situations - they run an 89.95/month system that covers all cuts as well as fall/spring cleanup. The biggest problem is they are beyond inconsistent with their service - I requested they handle us either thursday friday or saturday and was assured that would be the case. Nope, most cuts when they actually happened were on Tuesdays, leaving a long mess of a yard come the weekend and having company over. That's when they actually showed up - there were multiple instances of going 2 weeks or more with no cuts! The biggest offense of all was Memorial Day weekend, no show at all despite numerous messages left on their machine that were not responded to. Because we were having company over, I wound up having to get a mower & do it myself Sunday morning. And wouldn't you know? On the holiday itself, at 2 in the afternoon there they were and had the nerve to go over the lawn I'd just cut as if it was even needed. No explanations, no apologies. In fact, the only time I heard from them was when I got fed up and stopped sending payment - then magically I get phone calls telling me they'll have to stop service if I don't get up to date with them. So of course I laid out all my reasons for stopping payment and made it clear that I wouldn't be renewing for next season. This was met with apologies, reassurances and promises that things would be different if I stayed with them. So I gave in and paid what I owed, magically a truck shows up to collect the check within an hour and finally cut the grass. But wouldn't you know it, as soon as the check clears we go back to the same nonsense routine. As if all this wasn't enough, they have the gall to send a letter at the end of the season indicating that they're raising the rate to $129 a month! No thank you! I've heard from some in the area that this was once a great company to deal with, but that they wound up partnering up with someone else and everything went down the tubes. That may be, but they've lost this customer permanently.
