Prepared foods was a much bigger entrant, as was the freezer section. The lack of fresh items seems contrary to the health food vibe. On the upside, you'll struggle to find a place that has more niche brands with vegan, gluten-free, and other specialty items. The local focus is also appreciated. On the downside, I was surprised how expensive it was, and that's with shopping the sale items and the $1 credit I apparently picked up by shopping at the Roanoke Earth Fare. She shares the shop with a cute coffee company that brews its own coffee and also loves to let you sample different brews before you choose one. These two shops go together perfectly and we enjoyed both the coffee and cheese very much. We also bought a little chutney to put on the cheese.
