Despite being an Invisalign provider, after assessing my bite digitally and manually Dr. Fred found my repeating that expense was unnecessary which showed integrity. Dr. Fred is reachable when necessary and communication with his team is simple, effective and responsive. Each member of Smile Dentistry's team is caring, friendly and supportive of your dental health. Both the hygienist and Dr. Fred recommended personalized dental care tips. Dr. Fred's exam techniques and technology choices attest to his advanced education at UCSD and USC. He explains your film findings and treatment options in simple terms for sound and lasting results.  Having TMJ, Dr. Fred examined my bite with articulating paper using the same methods as my Oral, Head and Neck Pathologist several counties away. I could not find a local practitioner skilled in these techniques. Dr. Fred took time fixing my bite to prevent further fractures without my feeling like a nuisance or rushed. Dr. Fred's digitizer results in crowns with a superior fit compared to standard impressions. When outside referral was necessary to other specialities, Dr. Fred personally ensured I received treatment soon and his entrusted network is equally advanced in training, technology and conscientiousness. There is no kinder or more capable Dentist in San Diego than Dr. Nick from True Design Dentistry…read more On Saturday afternoon, September 12, I hosted a three year-old birthday party that ended in shock and dismay. I tripped on a misplaced 3 foot metal fan and flew 5 feet through the air, damaging my upper lip and cutting my knee. My 4 front teeth all were damaged and one, a beautiful crown that Dr Nick had made for me before, fell out. I called Dr. Nick's emergency number and he did a FaceTime assessment that led to his driving a half hour from his home to reset my tooth. He created a brace to shore up the others and put five stitches in my lip all without pain. I saw him two weeks later for a happy checkup. In one month he will fix the chips that remain on my teeth and most likely remove the bridge that he had created for their stability. Dr. Nick at True Design Dentistry is simply absolutely wonderful. I have been to many dentists in my life and he is by far the very best. He redid several crowns for me and the work that he did was so far superior than the other dental work I had done it was just hard to believe. He gave me my smile back, and I have no doubt he will again!

Finding Friendly Family Dental and reading through the reviews here gave me just enough confidence to give it a shot. Glad I did. Dr. Tan and the entire staff brought a warmth and authenticity that was noticeable from the moment I walked in -- front desk, X-rays, the cleaning, all of it. This is a small, personal practice, not one of those high-volume offices with a massive team and a slick website. That difference shows in how you're treated. Not all the news from my visit was good, but Dr. Tan shared it with patience and honesty, and the decisions we landed on felt like a real conversation rather than a treatment plan handed down. There's no urgency being created around minor concerns here -- just measured, thoughtful care. That's rarer than it should be. Highly recommended.

I had crowns done on the left side of my mouth (back 3 teeth) they took impressions and put them in my mouth without issue. The problem is that Dr. Fakhimi then removed all the anatomy from the newly delivered teeth leaving me with flat, horizontal pegs for teeth. Perhaps it's my fault for telling him my bite felt off, I don't know. It took forever to chew anything and I couldn't figure out why, I then noticed my teeth were flat. I called the office to see if they could use the impression to redo the teeth but they get rid of impressions once the teeth are delivered. I asked if they could use the teeth on the other side as a guide to give anatomy to the other side but apparently that is not a thing. In summary I paid about $5000 (thats with insurance coverage) to Dr. Fakhimi who permanently disfigured my teeth and bite. He does have a soft touch the anesthesia was painless, and grinding my teeth down didn't hurt. If you go to him just don't say your bite feels off because there is no way to fix teeth with no anatomy. Compare the back 3 teeth on the left to the ones on the right. It may not look like a big difference but it will determine if you eat steak again or not.
