Although I do not disagree that shoulder pain could be related to neck, it was not the complaint and the therapist DID NOT even know what they were treating me for ie. Only neck vs. shoulder with help in neck. I was in for shoulder. He looked at me like I was nuts when I asked for dry needling in it. Guess what finally fixed it? Yep, needling. Not my first rodeo. Real problem is problems aren't individualized and everyone acts like they're right cause they read it in a book in school. I was getting same treatment as someone 3 times my age, I was in my 30's at the time. I get protocol, but come on, treat people like you want them to heal. . read more

I went to Omer a little over a week before running the New York marathon this year. At that point I was having major knee pain when running just 3-4 miles. I had been seeing a different chiropractor who really wasn't making any significant impact on the pain and finally went to a doctor who recommended Omer. At this point I really didn't think I was going to finish the marathon- if I couldn't even run 3-4 without pain and could hardly finish 10 mile runs, there is no way I was going to finish 26 miles. I went to Omer, he explained the diagnosis thoroughly, put me to work on various hip and knee exercises, and worked on my IT band. I ran 10 miles the next day with zero knee pain. A week and a few sessions with Omer later, I finished the marathon in a time I was very happy with and most importantly, no knee pain! Needless to say, Omer is amazing at what he does. He is extremely knowledgable in physical medicine and he clearly knows how best to treat different impairments. Not only that he is great to talk to and is very good at taking your mind off any pain you might have. Plus the atmosphere of the facility is so warm and inviting and all the people who work there are extremely kind and helpful. (They were able to fit me in 4 times in a week with basically no notice-- so I could be ready for the marathon!) Probably one of the best experiences I've had with healthcare before! I tore my labrum (yes, a James tore his Labrum, I did receive many cheesy Labrum/Labron James jokes). Well anyway, after surgery Ryan helped me to navigate the road ahead to rehab. Omer is one of the best physical therapists I've ever been to. I've had several knee surgeries and several physical therapists over the past couple years (not because I'm a marathon runner, mine was kind of a freak accident). What I like about him compared to my other physical therapists is that he makes the sessions individualized and is super knowledgeable and up-to-date on research with regard to physical therapy techniques. It wasn't the same boring stuff every session--he liked to mix things up and provide you with therapy that really incorporates a full body approach to recovery. I have had so many surgeries in a short-period of time and my whole body, including my knee, was just "off" from all the laying down and crutches. He made sure to target other areas that were also impacted, and incorporated this into my knee surgery recovery. Him and his assistant, Nora, are very friendly and very helpful regarding scheduling--if something happens and you need to see him, they are very good about fitting you in and being available. They are very easy to get into contact with and like another reviewer said, it's a great atmosphere and Nora and Omer are easy to talk to and make the time go by quickly! I have been coming to the place for both shoulder pains related to desk work, but also due to some car accidents and Nora and the team have just proven over and over again, that this is THE place to go! Nora is super competent, listens and helps you as a patient getting to recovery the best way possible! You always feel welcome at the clinic and i highly recommend this place! Only "downside" is that on some timeslots, there are too many patients in at the same time, and you are more "on your own" with less attention, since most sessions are one hour each. Nora is the best. I had a very serious knee injury that required a significant amount of therapy over 3 months. Due to the nature of the procedure, I wasn't able to put pressure on my leg/knee for 2 months. When I started therapy my leg muscles had atrophied and I could barely get through the most basic exercises. With Nora's help, I was slowly able to build up my strength and flexibility. She was very patient throughout the process, but challenged me appropriately. PT is never fun, but this is a great place. read more

This review is specifically for Omer. I was a patient of his when he was at the Loop location on Wabash. I thought he did a great job of understanding my injuries and provided relevant treatment and exercises for my plantar fasciitis and hamstring injuries. He also was very responsive to e-mail if I had a question or two or was just providing him an update after my final visit. This was important as I was training for a marathon at that time. I would highly recommend Omer to anyone who wants to see a knowledgeable physical therapist in Chicago. read more

Nova Care has consistently treated my PT needs far better than any of the other places I've tried so I was overjoyed when they opened a location on Division and Wood just steps away from my house. The manager, Omer is phenomenal. He's patient, extremely knowledgeable and supportive. His routines are creative and effective. What also sets them apart from other pt locations in the area is the personal treatment they give. Omer listens well to my complaints, figures out the problem and addresses it. I didn't feel like a number with someone yelling across the room "how's it going" while they worked with 2 or 3 other patients and treating us all the same. So reluctantly (since now my secret go to place is no longer secret) I encourage you to stop by and make an appointment? You'll be feeling better in no time. It doesn't surprise me that every review is 5 stars. This place is great. I had a bum shoulder that was preventing me from doing most activities and I thought I would need surgery. My doctor had me go to Novacare instead. When Omer gave me my initial diagnosis, I was skeptical. However, after about a month to a month and a half, my shoulder was strengthened and soon enough, Omer worked his magic, and I was able to do almost everything I could before my injury - swim, lift, throw, etc. Omer is extremely knowledgeable and the staff there is adept and friendly. It is a well-run office and my sessions there were efficient and organized. I would recommend that anyone try giving this office a shot before getting surgery. read more

I broke my foot in a tour bus accident and had to have multiple surgeries. As a result, I was in PT at Novacare for over a year and it was actually a great experience (as great as an experience in PT can be, anyway). Omer is amazing. Not only is he a great physical therapist who truly understands running injuries (he is a runner, himself), he's great to talk to and is incredibly accommodating to his patients. When I injured myself during last years' Chicago Marathon and still planned to run New York 3 weeks later, Omer fit me in as often as he could - by coming in early or staying late - to help me quickly get to a point where I could run without pain. I would recommend him to anyone, but especially to those with running injuries, s he truly gets them and knows how to help them heal. read more

I went to Omer at his previous location a year ago when I got stress fractures in my shins while training for a marathon. He was incredibly helpful last year getting me back in shape to start running again. I went 2 times a week for about 6 weeks, and he was fully attentive each session, explained each exercise and its purpose fully, and gave me a very manageable regimen for returning to run. Many of the exercises he showed me continued to be helpful to prevent injuries even after I stopped seeing him. Unfortunately, I moved away from Chicago several months after seeing Omer. However, I started having some issues in my legs from running again over the past few months, and I waited until I was visiting Chicago recently to go back and see Omer at his new location. He happily squeeze in an appointment, remembered my injury perfectly, and gave me a full session of exercise suggestions, analyzed my running, and helped me work on my form. Omer is the best and I wish I lived closer so I could continue to go to him for injury prevention! Highly recommend! read more

Over the years I've had my fill of going to places for physical therapy for an ongoing issue with my back. Time and time again I felt like I was squeezed in with a few other clients and often spent a fair part of my hour just waiting to be guided on what was next. That all changed once I visited this location and met with Omer. He took the time to get to know me and listen to the things I've struggled with over the years. He always is checking in and tweaking the exercises and stretches to accommodate where I'm at. He takes the time to show, explain and help with new exercises/stretches. Though I may not be the only person that he is working with during my appointment he is ALWAYS sure to get me going on my next task and does an amazing job at balancing between his clients so nobody sits around. The receptionist Nora and the rest of the staff are always there to help out too and are super friendly and welcoming. I can't say enough good things about Omer and Nora. I saw Nora for hip pain following a broken hip. My life was clouded by pain. I expected to be hurried through with chastisement for not continuing my home program after the initial injury. Nora was kind and encouraging. She has taught me an array of stretching techniques and has inspired me that keeping up with my program makes me feel great!
