In town for a visit and needed to have a trim. Found this salon close to my hotel and decided to give it a try. Walked in during the early afternoon and was pleasantly greeted at the front counter. They happened to have a professional available and I was promptly seated and provided with refreshments and chocolate while my stylist was notified. Ahmed magically appeared and asked what I would like to do with my hair today. He did an amazing job from the very start. My long hair was washed with so much care, it was so relaxing. It was obvious that Ahmed knew how to work with long hair, he brushed my hair efficiently and carefully (in my experience, many hairdressers tend to rush the hair brushing and end up breaking hairs in the process). He cut my hair perfectly and then styled it exactly how I asked, sort of how I looked when I came in but with a little bit of curl. I will definitely be back to this salon! Having confirmed my booking in writing, I received an email saying they couldn't accommodate me after all - even after I had made plans (including a train booking) around the appointment. No budging from their end despite it being their mistake. Very unimpressed. I would not recommend. read more

Brilliant! I stopped in for a blowout when the rain ruined mine, and I was absolutely thrilled with my hair. My stylist took great care with me, asked what I would like, how I wear my hair, gave me a beautiful blowout that I couldn't stop touching. Rush Earl's Court is a funny business. I was treated very nicely during my appointment, and I feel bad giving them only two stars. But I definitely won't be going back, and that really is the crux of the matter. My stylist was very nice and spent a very long time (2 hours!) on my hair. But unfortunately, he didn't listen to what I wanted, and I walked out with a hairstyle I couldn't maintain. My hair looked great when I left, but when I washed it the next day, I just didn't have an hour to spend styling it, and it looked tragic. I always go into a salon with my hair styled in my day-to-day manner, and he didn't take my styling routine into consideration. After spending time on styling my new cut, it looked like an 'old lady' cut. I called the salon to discuss my unhappiness, and, to their credit, was immediately invited back to have it fixed. In the end, I didn't go back, as my confidence in the salon was damaged. On the other hand, my boyfriend somehow gets great haircuts from the same place, and always walks out looking good. He has mentioned though, that he doesn't feel that the staff are particularly friendly. Also worth a mention, they have a lot of specials and offers - discounts if you pre-book, or recommend a friend, things like that. My partner was supposed to get a discount for having referred me to their business, but they backtracked and wouldn't grant it. Maybe a case of staff not being aware of all offers, but still disappointing. To conclude this opus, I went to another salon, and my new stylist said my haircut was "confusing" and "inconsistent". I guess if you go to Rush, talk to your stylist and make sure they UNDERSTAND what you want, and hopefully you'll end up ok! read more

Discussed the colour with stylist prior to ombre colour. My hair was already dyed but colour needed extending higher. Ended with barely any hair colour visible; the previous ombre had been darkened too. When I complained I was told the dark colour looked better and to buy a silver shampoo to lighten it! Despite bad previous experience, returned for routine root touchup, cut and blow dry. I rang enroute to prewarn I would be ten minutes late to be told it was fine. Stylist then said she won't have time to cut hair because I was late but I reluctantly went ahead as it was too late to book elsewhere. She then said there was no time to dry hair either after washing the dye out, and there was no stain remover to get rid of all the dark patches on face! I complained that I wouldn't have proceeded if she had told me earlier. Very poor service. I was expected to leave the salon with bedraggled hair. read more

I had already had a bad haircut in London over a year and 2 months ago so I was nervous about this appointment. The staff were very nice, took my coat, served me a glass of wine. Washed and dried my hair very well. I went prepared with photos of what I wanted. I just needed a healthy, neat, cut with side layers I specifically told the hairdresser I wanted my hair to look fuller by cutting in layers. His solution was to take a razor and basically thin my hair out! He butchered me. He did not even chop the ends off properly even though I mentioned my split ends . It doesn't even look like I've had a haircut, just looks like I've lost half a head of hair and a rat has chewed off the ends. Then they wasted time straightening my hair even though my hair is naturally straight and curled the ends. What's more is I was jilted on the price. I got quoted £37 for a cut and blow wave over the phone. When the hairdresser asked if he should style my hair, I asked if it was included in the £37 and he confirmed it was. When I tried to pay using my friend's referral (£20 off for a first time visit), they conveniently changed their price to £47 and charged me £27! It was supposed to be £17 (£37 minus the £20 discount) The manager said I could not use my discount in conjunction with my offer of £37. What offer!? That was the price they quoted on the phone, it was not a special offer. I am very disappointed with the hair cut and I will not be going back there again ( if only to get my money back) read more

I visited the Earls Court salon in Dec'13 for highlights, and it was most unpleasant, dreadful experience. Unprofessional, hostile service and appaling customer attitude. Grossly overcharged for the poor service and lack of professional knowledge and skill. I have never experienced such negative salon attitude elsewhere, it was shocking and upsetting. In short, if you respect yourself, do not use this company. There is something painfully wrong with this company's policy, and their staff is not well trained in listening to customers or treating them correctly. read more

I wish I could give 0 stars. I went here 2x and it was okay. I like to be blonde and they made it too bleachy/white, but that is okay as it takes some time to get used to someone's hair. One time I showed up 2 minutes late and they completely cancelled my appointment without notice. Today, I just went and had the worst experience I've ever had a salon since I started getting my hair colored 10+ years ago. The guy who did my hair was a French guy. He spoke down to me, told me he "couldn't promise that there wouldn't be breakage," and was painfully pulling my hair the entire time during highlights. Then, when he was washing my hair, it was almost like he was purposefully splashing my entire face with water. He was extremely aggressive and pulled half my hair out when brushing it. I ended up being so overwhelmed that I left the salon, with soaking wet, knotty hair. I will absolutely never ever go back to this location. read more

This is a great salon. I popped in to get a blow dry and flat iron as a walk-in, and the reception was very warm and friendly (offered a selection of drinks, and I received orange juice and chocolate!), and I was lucky enough to get taken right away. Steven, the manager, did a brilliant, quick job on my curly hair and he wasn't too chatty (thank god. I really dislike running commentary when I just want to relax with a magazine). My hair is silky and shiny now. I would highly recommend, and will be back for a desperately needed color job the next time I am in Earls Court. read more

I had gone in for a half head of highlights and a trim. There is a big notice in the window advertising highlights for 65. My stylist was a very sweet, but immediately started pushing me on the haircut, demonstrating how terrible the ends were and insisting I would need at least two inches off. I kindly told him no, just trim the ends and dust the layers. He did a fine job with the highlights, and I was pleased, but it was more a partial than a half head. But the cut - OH NO. he started at the back cutting off much more than two inches off the length, then proceeded to hack a deep thick 80s layer through my hair, with no regard to my explanation of it all naturally falling forward. He hadn't listened to a word I'd said: I had agreed the ends were rough, but also explained I was trying to grow out the layers. The result is disastrous - deeply stepped layers that do not blend into the hair, leaving a great bobble of hair sitting on top off my head with just a few wisps of length. Although I was near tears when I saw the steps at the back of my head, I handed him a 20 buck tip and just wanted to pay and go. To add insult to injury the manager then asked me for 170 pounds. I was gob smacked. I reminded him of the poster proudly displayed in the window - 65 pounds, and he immediately changed the cost to 130, which still made no sense, Infelt they were just trying it on to fleece me. In all fairness I was there last year and had a lovely girl who had listened carefully and had done a beautiful cut and highlight job. The weird thing was that the stylist had said the previous layers almost resembled a bob, but then cut it into an even shorter cleaner cut bob leaving a few strands of length hanging at the back,sort of Susie Quattro. There is no recourse for me, years of length wiped out. I had explained to him that my hair naturally falls forward: but this seemed to be totally disregarded, so am left with a bulbous helmet around my face. When I got home there was a deathly silence, until my kind niece proclaimed 'it's not that bad.' I had been due to deliver a speech the following day but could not face a audience looking so ridiculous, this weekend I have had to cancel a wedding, and it will be some time before I can continue my work, because I need to appear sleek and professional. Since the damage is done, Inwill have to wait another 3 years to grow out the layers, I cannot in all conscious recommend Rush Earls Court to anyone. read more
