I visited rush in Basildon recently after being given a recommend a friend card. This gave me a half price cut and blow dry, so I decided to book in. The only stylist available when I needed was Stevie, and upon arrival found him very courteous and attentive. I was offered a selection of drinks and given some magazines and was not kept waiting, definitely an experience I'm not used to at Supercuts. I had been going there for some time, purely for convenience. However in past years, I had visited sassoons, Toni&guy and errol Douglas, the service and haircut from which had been very pleasing. I have very curly and unmanageable hair, so finding someone with the experience necessary to give a good cut can prove to be a struggle, hence why I have paid out for the aforementioned big names. The cut I had from Stevie at rush however, did not compare in the slightest. I am amazed at the quality of his work, but even more so at his confidence with advising me on a style that suits my lifestyle, and aftercare advice regarding styling which has proved invaluable since my new haircut. I will certainly not be seeing anyone else from now on, I have the great pleasure to say I have found my hairdresser for life. Fully recommended to everyone!
Update
Sadly Stevie has now left this salon, and the manager refused to tell me where he had gone. Was convinced to try another stylist and I just don't feel like it was done to the same standard. It's not a bad cut, but there were no finishing touches, or personalising as Stevie called it, and to be honest, I could have got the same cut and service much cheaper. read more
