DO NOT HIRE THIS ELECTRICIAN!!! I would rate 0 stars if I could. Unprofessional, unreliable, no…read moreservice, poor quality work, money hungry. Made the huge mistake of hiring Mike for doing the electrical work in a couple of houses. He does not know what he is doing nor does he know how to operate a business. He has no crew to help him on any of his jobs, and hardly shows up when needed (electrical inspections, construction team meetings, etc). When communicating with him, nothing but arrogance and attitude. Mike gives no service to his customers. I talked to a few other people that have had him do work, and they all say the same thing. Once he is paid, he will ignore you and will not fix his mistakes. Other people on the job had to go out of their way to fix the electrical issues on site. He provides only the bare minimum in his materials and finishings, buying the cheapest material just to get by in order to get his next paycheck. We had several issues with the quality of his workmanship, including having appliances that would repeatedly trip random outlets around the house, fixtures randomly falling from poor installation, and lights that would last not even a month before requiring repair. I would ask him countless times to fix things, and he would just come up with excuse after excuse for not fixing, or just ignore it all together. Quality of work and service is overall mediocre. On top of what's mentioned above, the biggest issue with Mike is that he only cares about money and nothing else! He always wants to get paid well before the job is complete. When you ask him about the job and when something will be done, he will always ask for pay first and think about how he is going to get money before anything else. And when he finally is paid, it will take him a really long time to respond or come back to do the rest of the work, if at all. He only cares about getting money and nothing else. S&S electric should not be in business. Mike doesn't know how to provide customers with service, work is the lowest quality I have ever seen, and keeps demanding money. His electrical license should be revoked!

When I began the process with Fenchel Shades, I didn't think ordering lampshades would be challenging, but it turns out, there's more to properly fitting lamp shades than meets the eye. First, Danielle sent swatches of shade colors so I could best match with wall color and room decor. Then, I sent pictures of the lamps with measurements so they could suggest a style and size that would work well. I am incredibly appreciative of their time and attention to detail in accommodating my order. I highly recommend Wisconsin Lighting and Fenchel Shades for your lighting needs.

The lampshade on my desk lamp (bronze and sculpted in China, with lampshade no doubt also from…read moreChina) needed replacement as the interior fabric had wear-torn after 45 years. I called Fenchel and got top rate assistance in sizing the lampshade. I then tried to describe the outer material, and Fenchel Customer Service assisted me in finding a material (they have hundreds). The price seemed very fair, and I was told that it would take 3-4 weeks. That was classic undersell. After 1 week, I was notified that my lampshade was finished, and was en route. I just got it, and I am thoroughly delighted. There is no way I could have found what I wanted, with it's odd dimensions, and I live in a very metropolitan area. And I got what I wanted, 2 weeks ahead of schedule, and perfect in every detail.

There was no up front quote prior to the service fee being charged, and while I expected I might pay a premium, it would up being over 50% more than another quote I got. I would consider the company itself to be opportunistic and somewhat manipulative. The service fee does not roll into the project itself as it would at a mechanic, but does make you feel committed to them. That fee includes a whole house eval, which was then used to try to sell me every kind of upgrade possible. Since I paid the fee, I used the opportunity to ask about some electrical codes for things I'm considering doing myself, and there was no hesitation to price it out for me in case I wanted the work done. When it came time to present the potential options, they were presented as financing options--definitely a sales tactic to get me to commit to spending on these extras projects, which would have been triple the cost of the one thing I called them for. My idea of a good contractor is one that presents options with honesty and warns me when something is a problem, and this was opportunistic. I'd look elsewhere.
