If you are trying to reduce condensation in your windows, magnetic windows may not be the right solution. The real problem is humidity in your house and you need to control that or it may lead to mold issues. The sales person won't tell you that and until you read the contract you won't find out that the magnetic windows do not guarantee solving the condensation problem. They also won't tell you that if your windows are already rotten, that will add up to the price. The Rusco people couldn't get it right and were in my house a total of 6 times. The first time their installers told me it would take about two hours, but then they realized they didn't have the correct size for three of the windows. One of the installers came back later after cutting the windows and were still not the right size. He came back a third time but the windows were still not the right size plus he had to fix the work of another installer. It took the whole day instead of 2 hours. The fourth time the Rusco people were in my house it was Ryan and Michael, a salesman. Michael yelled and insulted me because I pointed out the reason I was dissatisfied with the windows and he wanted a check for the remainder of the balance. I have the security recordings if you want to listen to their unprofessional behavior. The magnetic windows will not match the frame that they installed around the window frame. Ryan, the sales manager said that they will never match and that I was expecting a porch and instead I got a magnetic window. I do not understand why it is so difficult to cut the windows to the right size. They say that as long as they overlap half an inch they are ok. Aesthetically it does not look good. Ryan agreed with me that Michael's behavior was unprofessional and that is why he is not a supervisor and put him on a time out. Ryan emailed me the next day and I agreed to have $300 dollars deducted off my bill and they were going to replace 3 scratched windows. I really wanted them to take all their windows back but they would not agree to it unless I would buy new windows for the whole house which I don't need. I ended up paying $1,500 for 9 windows. They wanted a check for the remainder of the balance but I told them I would not pay until the job was finished. Ryan stopped again the next day to pick up the damaged windows and asked for the check again. I told him I would pay when those windows would get fixed. He called Jeff, the owner, and Jeff said he was sick and tired of trying to collect. Why he feels entitled to collect when the work is subpar and not finished is beyond me. My perception is that Rusco did a good job in the past, but it is clear that has changed. You will be better off finding a different contractor and save yourself a lot of pain. read more
