We put him in Legends and specifically the Speedball program they invented in early 2023. By the time the 2023 machine pitch season began, his hitting (and fielding) abilities had been transformed. He has a beautiful swing now and he's obsessed with continuing to improve it. He also did two weeks of Legends in the summer of 2023. My older son also did Legends and their online program at the start of Covid was a wonderful invention by David Klein to keep the first batch of boys who joined sane and fit. The coaches are all so friendly and positive and you can tell they love working with young kids who love baseball. The program has grown a lot and expanded and I just hope that doesn't affect the quality and the culture.

Steve is just a natural born teacher/coach, and knows every aspect of the game inside and out, is everyones favorite coach at all levels, works the positivity side of things like you wouldn't believe, and is one of the nicest guys you'll ever meet. His success as a coach, and the success of his athletes, all comes from a place of real passion and the desire to see his players grow to their full potential. Coach Kelly was not only a great baseball coach for my son, but was an even better coach about life, and how to succeed. I'd almost have another kid just so he could play Legends and be coached by Steve Kelly.

In the 80's I competed with and against Tim Sheeper and let me tell you, in training he was one of the best partners any athlete could hope for! But, when it came to race day, he was fierce and tenacious and he left everything out on the race course. I remember one USTS SoCal race when i was able to yell an encouragement with a smile at a turn around point, he later asked me in a polite way, "How can you smile and be so up when you are busting your butt out there?" That was Tim's soft way of asking if I was trying my hardest giving my sponsors all of their money's worth! If you are looking for a coach that understands the sport of Triathlon and someone who is knowledgeable of the 3 sports individually, look no further, you will not be able to find anyone better than this true pioneer of the sport of Triathlon. Now back to training for me, I have been away from this sport for 24 years and I have to get re-educated! Thanks to my "future" Team Sheeper!

IVL is so great. As a volleyball player I feel really lucky to have such an accessible, fun,…read moreyear-round league with so many different format and nightly options. It brings a lot of good people together for some very competitive volleyball. With reverse coed, coed, men's, and women's in all different skill levels it really gives one a lot of options. My only complaint is that because the players ref the other players we tend to start later than we should, which results in getting out later and ultimately, less sleep for me. Overall, I love being able to play as often as I want with so many different groups of people. Bay Area volleyball players are really lucky to have it. Especially when you don't want to wait around for the monthly NCVA tournaments.

There are Men's, Women's, Coed, and Reverse Coed leagues accommodating players with a range of skill levels, from those who have just started learning volleyball (coed B), to players who have played on their college team. It's really a lot of fun, great competition, good exercise, and a nice way to meet people. The guy who runs the leagues, Kirk Anderson, has been doing this for over 25 years, and knows how to run leagues! He's also very helpful if you have any questions. There's a free agent list on the IVL website if you are interested in playing but don't have a team. Check it out!
