Hubby & I were staying at the WorldMark Wyndham Running Y Ranch resort on a getaway. Arnold Palmer's signature course at Running Y Ranch is on property. Known as Arnold Palmer's Sweet Sixteen of over 300 courses he designed. I started looking for golf deals. I found one on Golf Moose $99 twosome. Cart additional $25 p/p. Still a good deal to play at a resort. Our tee time was today at 9:20 am. There was a frost delay. Fortunately there weren't any players until 8am so there wasn't a backup. The starter had us go out at 9:10am cuz the 9:10 group hadn't shown up yet. We followed a threesome. Soon it became evident it was going to be slow play. The course is spectacular. You're surrounded by trees and water. It's situated in a basin of a former ranch. We finished two minutes behind pace. 4 1/2 hours total. It seemed longer cuz we waited at every hole. I planned to stop off here for the night on my way from Portland to Reno. I didn't really know what to expect. An Arnold Palmer designed course in the north sierras... It was awesome! I went out at 8 am on a Sunday. Two other groups were playing but it was otherwise all to myself out there. After the front nine, I grabbed my girlfriend to ride along on the back 9. I really love the signature 9th hole and holes 13-16 up through the trees. A great experience. It's too bad the cost is so high. read more

What a course... from the first couple holes on the water, to the elevation changes in the Forrest. It was in phenomenal shape when I played last week despite a rough winter, staff were friendly as hell and the course kicked my butt just how I wanted it to. Will def be back when I'm in the area on business, hands down best course in KFS and only Arnie course in oregon. Only negative I can add is that I wish the carts had GPS... with as high end as the place is, it would be expected. read more

I played the Running Y Ranch golf course for the first time this week. The course is in excellent condition, very friendly staff and the various tees make it playable for any level of player. I am a single digit handicapper and I liked this course. It is very fair. No tricked up holes. No 2 holes the same. Bunkered very well so even though some fairways look spacious, bunkers come into play. Greens were fast but not unplayable. I don't remember a flat putt, so the greens can be tough if you get above the hole. Traps could use more sand, but that's an individual choice based upon what you are used to. However they were very consistent hole to hole, what more can you do for. As a bonus I got paired up with the local legend who shot a 58 from the tips during a tourney. At 13. That was a great bonus, to watch him hit it! And a real pleasant person ! If you like the high desert feel, being treated professionally and want to play a great course, make the trip! read more

Avoid using this place as a venue - especially for weddings. Kim, the sales manager/defacto wedding coordinator has no clue what she's doing and her incompetence showed during a recent wedding I attended. The food was overcooked, the sound system in the reception hall was unbalanced and was only on one side of the room and they were just overall not an acceptable staff to work with. I recomend anything else to better represent Klamath Falls. read more

Played two rounds in May-22. Course was in excellent shape. Probably one of the top three courses I've ever played, spanning 40 years of golf! Challenging course, fair, great tee boxes for men and very fair to women, firm fairways, and absolutely perfect greens. And excellent scenery. Very nice course, highly recommend. This is one of the top 3 golf courses in Oregon. The only reason I do not rate it as a 5 is because of the blatant disrespect of the starter on the morning of July 16, 2022. We planned ahead and scheduled the 7am (first) tee time because we had another round to play in the afternoon. As we headed to the first tee we were stopped and rudely barked at as he sent one group out ahead of us. He tried to send a second group ahead of us as well. We are accustomed to playing in 3 hrs. As we teed off he was loudly talking about us to other groups and laughing that we will not finish in 3 hrs, we finished in 3:10. For being a quality resort this was appalling behavior and hopefully is never repeated to any other paying guest. Again, that said the course is incredible, scenic, challenging, and well maintained. read more

Very nice Golf course here, but word of caution here, it is spread out pretty far and is part of a residential area (kinda a V or a L around the residential part) the pars here are tricky as there is a lot of hills that will make it a little harder for you. Overall, very nice course to come to, the prices are reasonable and lot of stuff to do here! read more

The course is beautiful and the golf course is in super condition with one exception. The sand traps have nice sand, but it is clear maintenance does not do anything to them. Played three straight days and they were never dragged or raked. So even though there is good sand in them they were full of packed sand, deer tracks and a ton of foot prints. We played early each days so it was apparent the they had not been maintained from the prior day. If they would give them some care, it would be a solid five stars. read more

I booked the resort room through hotels dot com for $150, but didn't realize they had an Arnold Palmer course. So, I stayed another night to get a shot at the course. My wife and I got an online rate of $69/player and we teed off at 7:40. The course was in great shape with lush fairways (a bit too wet) and true greens. The layout was challenging and aesthetically pleasing. I would say the course isn't overly difficult, but hitting balls off the tee is a premium. Overall, the course isn't long (played the greens) and few par 5s were even reachable in two. Overall a very beautiful course that is well maintained. Too bad Running Y couldn't do anything about the smoke in the air from all the fires. read more

My wife and I played 9 holes on a Friday afternoon. We're "advanced" novice and had a great time despite donating several golf balls to the gods. The front 9 is beautiful...everything was green, the fairways and greens were in pretty good shape despite a rough winter in Klamath Falls. The price for two, with cart, was $70 total. The course is not forgiving once you get off the fairway because the tall grass eats golf balls voraciously; however, we had a great time and will play again if in the area. read more

While waiting for the spa the golf pros in the Pro Shop at the running y golf course we're AMAZING! Because of the rona- the spa people only came in right before our appointments which we were unaware of and were there at least 30 minutes early. They were so helpful in trying to contact the spa and they ended up buying a drink for us to sit and hang out with while we waited much longer than we had wanted. It was SO nice of them to help us and be so nice in general while we had to wait and on my birthday none the less. Very friendly and helpful staff! I wish I golfed! :) hahaha read more

Amazed by everything, from the friendly pro shop to the amazing Arnold Palmer course it has to offer. This place is great for some challenging, yet exciting, fun golf. I have played all over the US and just have one complaint...the cost at pro shop without staying at resort is $110 per person with out cart, $90 if you are staying at the resort...but if you do your homework you can book for only $55 per person online! Do yourself a big favor if you come here and book online for your golf and enjoy a much more affordable time! :) read more

My wife booked a "stay and play" deal from the hotel--good deal; we slept over two days and got three rounds of golf in the deal. Course is very nice, well maintained, and challenging for all levels...I'm a low handicap golfer and was very impressed with the greens, sometimes baffled. Great condition, nice scenery, pretty typical resort course, meaning lots of tee options, and pretty generous driving areas. I would play there again. Helpful staff, and friendly people. read more

My wife and I have been staying at this resort about three times a year for the past 4 years or so and have found it (in the past) to be a great place to stay and play golf. One of the really fun things about this resort is the golf package. It truly made the resort a great place to stay and play at a reasonable price. Upon arriving at the resort you could go directly to the golf course and play an included round of golf. (The golf course is always in great shape and is fun to play). After golf you could check in at the lodge and sit on the deck and have a drink and look out across the 10th and 17teenth fairways. What a great view. Next we would have dinner at the lodge restaurant, go for a walk, and retire to our room for the night. The next morning it was breakfast at the lodge, check out and off to the golf course for another included round of golf. After golf we would continue on our way to the Bend area where we spend a part of the summer. Well things have changed and that is why I have given this resort only one star. They have stopped including the second round of golf, raised the prices of everything at the resort including charging extra for a golf course view. I was just there the last Saturday of June and the price now is $351.00 (and that did not include the extra $20.00 for the golf view room) for my wife and I plus golf as noted above. So now we are not stopping there anymore. Too bad the new owners got so greedy. read more

Played here on our way home from touring Or. at the recommendation of a friend, great recommendation. Played from the yellow tees which was a help. My wife and I had the entire course to our selves as the weather wasn't the best but it did get better. Fairways had generous landing areas, but you have to work with hilly conditions. The greens were about a perfect as you could ask for, what a joy to putt on nice greens. The fact that the homes are set a ways back from the holes makes it feel more open even though the course is in the forest for the most part. Hole 9 pretty cool to be able to almost drive the green, play there and you will know what I mean. Would recommend to my golfing friends and would love to go back. read more

Wonderful golf course. My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our experience. The only complaint we had was not receiving a certificate of recognition when my husband got a hole in one. The 15th hole--it was exciting and would have liked some recognition from the golf course staff. At the very least a certificate--instead he got a handshake. I was very disappointed in our double queen room. We were on a road trip vacation and timed our travel so we would spend my husbands birthday at the Running Y thinking that was going to be the best place we stayed on our journey. When I arrived in the room, I was very disappointed. The room we stayed in at the Holiday Inn Express was nicer than the room at the Running Y - big surprise based on the price difference. The bathroom was also the most disappointing of any of the places that we stayed. There is something about showering in a shower with a rusty soap dish and left over hair that just isn't right for all they boast. There isn't even a counter in the bathroom for you to lay your personal items....just the shower and toilet - a big turn off. I will say the lobby and the grounds were nice. The employees were very friendly. The room was a big disappointment. read more
