We decided to splurge…read morethis year and paid top dollar for the most expensive tickets they offered which we assumed would be great seats. What a joke. We bought two tickets from the Lazy E website for a total of $330 thinking this would give us box seats. WRONG! The site will not let you pick your seats, you just select what price you will pay and it assigns you tickets. The on line seating cart is vague and not useful at all. Turns out we paid that astronomical price for terrible seats - Section Q, Row C, seats 11 and 12. We were packed in like sardines in the bleachers. We were so disappointed. After the opening event, we moved to the other side of the arena to some of the many empty seats with even better views and were a lot more comfortable. We always enjoy the rodeo but, if we go next year, we will pick the lowest possible priced seats for a 10th of the price. What a rip off. The rodeo itself was great as always. We enjoy shopping the vendors stalls there too. Food and drinks are really expensive of course. Walking tacos were 9$ each and well drinks were 9$ each too. It was freezing the night we went but staff in carts drove us to the entrance so we didn't have to walk the whole way. Loooong lines at the concession stands indicate that they need more food booths but there is no room for them. Great rodeo though!

We happened upon their Labor Day weekend events by chance, and had one of the most memorable nights in ages. The activities begin with small children riding crazy-acting sheep. If that doesn't bring a smile to your face, you're hopeless. Later on you'll get steer wrestling, roping, saddle bronc riding. Extra entertainment comes from the rodeo clowns, the John Wayne impersonator in full Rooster Cogburn attire, and the game booths where you can win live bunnies as prizes. Oh, did I mention you can also feast upon the National Champion Indian Taco here? Delish.

Amazing fun ! You can't line dance they have sessions…read morethroughout the night and you won't feel like an ass . Go as a couple or get a group together of fun people and enjoy the night people watching ...I forgot the live bull riding ? It's something that needs to be witnessed live to truly appreciate crazy . Make sure to bring a designated driver and enjoy the experience. A dollar for shots and beer before ten ...What could go wrong ? Ladies there's no admit fee before ten . Go and have fun .

However the DJs (mainly Justin) are repetitive with their songs and will not play anything outside of their listing unless you are a cute girl in their eyes. You can tip them and they will look at you like that's the least you can give and still won't play anything you request, so guys beware. "Line dance lesson" they teach will not be played at all ever throughout the night for beginners and will be forgotten about. So much potential!

The guy at the ticket window couldn't figure out the price so I stepped away. Looked it up and went to another window. Then they the metal detectors which must be set pretty lean as I did not hear it chirp once. Also noticed a new rule this year. Anyone 17 and under must be accompanied by an adult at least age 25 and they can only chaperone 5. Trying to cut down on a lot of the unruly activities. Not sure how they are going to police tht though. This year we jumped on the free train tht runs around the grounds. It pretty much makes the trips around to the gates but it was a nice break from walking. The sights and sounds were there as well as all the food smells. Not a midway fan anymore so w me skipped tht. Was a good walk and some exercise.

It is one square mile of food, rides, exhibits,…read moreand entertainment There are several areas for parking and they just paved a huge area on the south off of 10th street but the north side is all grass and gravel If you come on the right night you may catch a live concert from a middle of the road band with a few hits or a one hit wonder but it's the cost of entry to see The food is really the only reason anyone comes to the fair. State fair park is pretty active this week with the fair, but Thts not the only use. They have just…read moreabout finished removing g the old state fair arena and the new OGE center is coming along nicely. All the AG barns have been updated. The grounds are looking pretty good. Still confusion on parking. I asked the police and they pointed one way but when I got there they attendants said there was none here. Was actually closer to park in the free parking than the handicapped. They need to figure tht out but it was still a nice day for a visit.
