My wife and I accidentally found Run Your Pack through word of mouth (Thank you Kat!). We had a German Shepherd puppy that needed training and her two owners needed guidance...desperately! Thanks to Chris at Run Your Pack, he helped show, educate and explain the basics. (I cannot recommend his puppy imprinting program enough!) Thanks to Chris, he taught us how to track with our shepherd. Tracking man, it is the Rosetta stone of dog Zen. He showed us the art of tracking and the many benefits of having one's dog become confident with their nose. Now when I go hunting, I know that were I ever to get lost, my wife knows to harness up the man hunter, take her to my truck and let her "do her thing". You cannot put a price on that type of peace of mind! Thanks to Chris, he taught us how to show her scent work and scent detection. A person can literally have their dog "indicate" on anything after learning how to teach them this game. Now, instead of my wife and I suffering eye strain when we go morel mushroom hunting, we can take our dog for a walk in the woods, watch for her to lay down, and fill up our paper bags with delicious mushrooms! (seriously, if you've never had morels sautéed in garlic butter with grilled elk steak--you haven't lived!?) Need a dog who can protect your family while you're away? Chris's bite work program can get you there teaching you how to get your K9 to bark or bite on command. Seriously guys (and gals), I highly recommend putting on the bite suit and taking a land shark to the arm! Chris Williams is hands-down the most knowledgeable and experienced trainer I have ever met, and I've met my fair share. His unique insight into the dog mentality has helped me sculpt and shape the most incredible relationship with my dog. And that's from 2 weeks of his puppy imprinting program. The results from those two weeks are amazing. Not only do I feel like my dog listens out of respect and love. It seems like anything I want to accomplish with him is possible. Some of the finer points of what my dog does thanks to the classes with Chris are: -Giving me all of his attention on walks whilst ignoring other dogs, traffic, children, peopele, and basically any other distraction unless I dictate otherwise. -Sits and waits patiently for his food even if it is in the bowl already (even if I'm not looking) until I give him permission to eat it. -Immediately responds when I call him, as well as responding unquestioningly to every command so far learned. (the main ones being: come, sit, and stay) -Has thus far overcome every fear he has had through the trust we share because of the techniques Chris has shown me. This includes loud noises, larger dogs, heavy machinery, and car shop drills, and thunder. Not bad for a 10 week old puppy! And most importantly it's not that I'm happy with the training.
