I can't believe the amount of time I've spent on the phone calling them to do the service I've paid for every week. If they pick up the trash on trash day it is a miracle. This is the 8th time they have missed me in just a few months. Why? I see three of their trucks parked at the McDonald's near my house and I think, "Good they are coming to pick up the trash" I just called them about. No. I have had it. At one time their service was the best in Lexington, KY. Now it is trash... So upset I have to waste my time again calling them to pick up my trash which will now sit on the curb until the end of the week. read more

I am in the process of selling my house. I called and let them know I needed a couch picked up and the lady said they would pick it up if I locked the arms and foot rest down so I ducked taped them in place. The day went by they were supposed to pick it up and I called and she said it has to be 100% wrapped in plastic. That would of been nice to know up front. Now a photographer is coming to take pictures of the house and Im stuck with a couch sitting out front. Service is a joke from this company. read more

This company is trash. Literally! I work for an apartment complex on the Southside of Lexington KY. This service has no pride in their work. They leave piles of trash when they empty our dumpsters and skip us outright if so much as a soda can might be in there way. I have spent months cleaning up after them, and at present have a mountain of garbage piled in front of our compactor. What a bunch of lazy drivers and managemen. They fail to comprehend that our dumpster sight is used by the entire city. People from off property dump here constantly. I do Rumpke's work for them every day. a driver damaged the gate entrance to our business on 5/4/2026. A representative came out that day and said they would fix it or we could fix it and send them a bill. We have not heard from them since and it has been 16 days since the incident. Only voice mail and NO returned calls. read more

Not dependable for pick up on garbage or recycle. Very hit and miss. Not regular. They come sometimes and other times just don't bother. They pick up garbage and not recycle, then they pick up recycle and not garbage other times. Sometimes they haven't come at all for either. I call and they request a return and they don't show anyway. read more

*WARNING* Had to fire Rumpke on second dumpster. This company failed to complete their mission. The driver just left the site at 7:30 am (fly by) because, they have a "dead run fee" $250 whenever there is an issue. AS A BUSINESS OWNER, IM WARNING YOU DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM. called them as the customer and they were rude and dismissive. Talking as if I work for them or something. Still waiting, nearly 2 weeks in, for recycle pickup...why is this an issue? Rumpke did not pick up (without warning) because of a recent snow, although other trash companies did. Not a huge deal, called and was told they would come soon....a week later and they still did not come. Luckily this is the dead of winter and not the hot summer, or the whole street would have a delightful smell to it...called in the 2nd week, was told they'd come back that day, which they didn't do, then that they'd come back within 48 hrs, which they did....to take the trash and not the recycles...it is deeply evident the reps on the phone could not care less for the customers' concerns...perhaps if you are tired of dealing with irate customers you might consider just offering a better service so the customers are happier? The first offense is not doing their job, the second offense is making it sound like it's the customer's problem. Every week they throw the trash cans around with little regard for where they end up, damage and dropping trash all over the area. Every week I have to pick up trash in the road from their trucks and remove the trash cans from the street. Sloppy work, total disregard for the neighborhood. Make sure your truck bin is empty before moving to the next service address. Return the trash cans/bins to where you picked them up. If you spill trash from an over stuffed trash can, PICK IT up- Don't just leave it on the ground. (If you need to remind the homeowner not to over stuff the trash can then do so - but PICK UP the trash.) read more

Every time they get a new driver my dumpster are missed for weeks! It's my second job to call when they miss. Currently the dumpsters were not emptied by Friday as I was told and the supervisor I spoke to never called Back as promised. I can't believe the amount of time I've spent in the phone calling them to do the service I've paid for ... and it's not cheap. Last week my dumpster wasn't emptied because it was 'blocked' and the driver had a photo.... The photo of the truck and trailer blocking 'my dumpster' wasn't even on my property!! read more

This company charges twice what Advance charges PLUS a fluctuating fuel charge! If there is another company you can go with, avoid these scammers- they are unable to explain why they charge so much when you call. They also don't return calls when you leave a message even though their policy is a call back within 24 hours. read more

We have had service from Rumpke for a number of years. The recently changed their pickup day and have not picked up our trash on the "new" day since July 4. I have attempted to get some resolution to this issue with no luck. They will not provide me ( or our neighbors ) a logical explanation for this debacle. read more

Our scheduled tradhnpick up is Wednesday. They missed our road completely. We called them Thursday and they said they would schedule a pick up for Friday. This is Friday and now with 3 FULL trash cans the driver scheduled to collect our trash rescheduled it for Monday!!!! Callings a complete waste of time as they can't help at all. I can't use their massive oversized 96gal can so I had contacted them last week that I would be continue to use my 64gal. There was a small email exchange happening while looking for a solution and poof my can just gets dumped. They are not taking any responsibility for the can saying it happens and offer me $20. I initially chose rumpke because they were the least expensive of the two providers in town; that is no longer the case. I have had continual problems with poor service in the four years that I've been with them. I've had to call numerous times because they used to leave my bins out in the middle of the street sometimes even tipped over when they picked them up. I've had many many problems with them not picking up my trash or recyclables or yard waste on time. For the last two weeks they have not picked up any of my yard waste. For the last week it has been raining and they told me now, after the third service call, that they cannot pick my bags up unless I rebag everything because the bags are soaked and falling through. They refuse to acknowledge that if they had picked them up two weeks ago this would not have been the problem. They don't even seem to care that I will be a customer of the other service provider in town as of tomorrow. read more
