The drop in…read moreclasses on ClassPass cost fewer credits than a lot of other gyms, so it was easy to decide to try it out. (I think the memberships cost over $200 a month even with new member promotions, so you have to really like the gym and really have the money to spend in order to get yourself a membership.) There is a parking lot behind the gym and a garage across the street where you can park if it's full. The selling point on the workouts here is that you can choose to work upper or lower body in one of the sections, kind of like a choose your own sweaty adventure. You start with a warmup, do the upper or lower body sub workout, do an abs sub workout, then do the workout of the day (WOD). That last part may remind you of Crossfit workouts, and their workouts indeed have Crossfit elements to them. The workout of the day includes a set of cardio with your choice of runs on the treadmill, pull downs on the ski erg, cycling on the assault bike or ergs on the rower. We did box jumps the first time I worked out here, but the trainer always asks you to let them know if you have any injuries or concerns with any of the movements and they can modify for you. I waited to go a couple more times after my first workout because I went through that first one largely annoyed. The trainer spoke Spanish for the majority of the time and lost any pleasantry when she turned to speak to me for corrections or the equipment to use. While a little kudos here and there would be motivating, she had little energy and said nothing encouraging. It felt like a cluster for a moment because there were 10 people (for a 6 AM workout) needing to use the same equipment for the WOD (like the boxes), so we needed to start the round at different sets. The other aspect of the workouts that reminds me of Crossfit is that the rounds can be repetitive, especially because you have to count reps constantly. Each sub workout consists of 3 rounds. The last time I went a few days ago, the trainer (a new one for me) told us to do each set within the sub workout 3 times before moving onto the next set, instead of doing each kind of set once and going through them 3 times. Either way, it's on you to count how many reps you do and and keep track of how many sets and rounds you've done and finish them within the allotted time (usually 10-12 minutes). The trainer leads you through a stretch at the end to cool down. What's great and torturous about the workouts is that they will take an hour from start to stretching finish. While many other studios and workouts promise a certain time like 45 or 50 minutes, I find myself sometimes coming out of the studio earlier than that time frame. You know you'll get the most out of the time you spend at this gym. It's a bonus that they lend towels to use during the workouts, because you will need one!

They have a great and wide selection of cardio machines, a HIIT zone, 2 saunas, massage chairs, and much more. This is one of the few commercial gyms in this area. It's definitely reliable and always clean. The two issues I have with this gym though it that it is ALWAYS full. I've gone at many different times and I've never seen this gym have less than 80 people inside. This leads to constantly having to wait to use almost any machine unless it's a cardio one. I can't always do all the machines I want to do because you never know which one will be popular that day. Having to wait for machines every day is extremely frustrating. In addition to this, parking is always a pain. The staff doesn't seem to try and control the influx of people because they are always giving tours to possible clients and heavily promoting to new customers via social media platforms and other methods such as texts or promotional posters around the vicinity of the gym. Before they even opened they kept on signing more and more people in for a membership when the are clearly exceeding an appropriate amount of customers. Good gym but extremely overpacked

I arrived at 615pm and I was greeted by T who was going to be our trainer for the workout. He checked me in and then told me that I would have to pay for the class because they no longer accept classpass. I explained that if I was able to book on classpass earlier that day and I didn't receive any notice that I couldn't book I should be able to workout. He stated that he would talk with someone to confirm. T came back and stated that it was fine for me to workout but in the future to book on their website. So he explained all the stations to me and we got started. It was a great workout with some stations mimicking the Hyrox completion. There were 10 stations and we had 3 rounds at each station. When we finished, I thought we were going to do some sort of stretch but people just started to leave so I knew we were done. Overall I'm not sure if I'll be back but I'm glad I had the opportunity to try it out.

I tend to avoid classes and things that will aggravate my knee, but I was doing fine in this class. Today the instructor wanted to change things up and go for a run, I did not know it was going to be a longer run, I'm really not supposed to be running too much hence why I go to HIT classes. I tried my best to keep up with the pace Christian the instructor set but I ended up having to walk when my knee started hurting. No big deal right. Well before you know it I'm alone in a neighborhood I don't know and I have no phone. I have been assaulted in the past so I started getting really nervous and panicking. I made it back to class but by then I'm in tears. I just grab my things and leave. I get to elevator and Christian runs to elevator and asks if I'm ok and I said no I am not ok. He says "you can talk to me." I'm like ok I tried to run, I didn't know it was gonna be that much running and my knee stopped me cause it hurt, had I known it was that long I shouldn't have gone. Then I told him being left alone in a neighborhood I dont know without a phone was not cool. He got mad then said "you don't even pay a membership, you're a class pass member and you have been coming here and liking the classes and not paying membership, here we push and if you don't like it then don't come back!" He then just walks away. I was just in aww about his attitude about what had happened and just said "wow" in return. So if you have an injury that limits you, don't expect him to be accommodating, especially if you're a class pass member. If he saw the xray of my knee maybe he would understand but I shouldn't have to. It was expected that I would have a knee replacement by the time I was 40, I'm 39 and I actually used to have a handicap parking card, so I can say I have been pushing myself and doing great, but I guess not to his standards. On another note, he never approached me personally about signing up for a membership or that continuing class pass was a problem. I'm new to class pass and didn't know I'm supposed to switch to a membership if I keep using the same gym. But that really has nothing to do with what happened today.
