The designer referred me then to Chris Mikus, owner operator of Safeguard. Chris, the designer, and I established an agreeable scope of work and he put together a proposal. Check this out: He uses the EXACT same software my insurance company uses for estimating costs whereas The first contractor merely wrote down hand written sentences on paper of work he would do. That frustrated the insurance company; i had to keep going between insurance and contractor, and all that ended when his prices were exorbitant and he refused to lower his price. In came Chris, he took a day or two and input the drawings, measurements, cost of materials, labor etc. and sent that FILE to my insurance agent. (With the other guy I took pictures of his hand written estimate. You can imagine how annoying that was for them). Then when the Ins Company got the paper bid, they laughed out loud on the phone!! Safeguard was a red-tape savior and actually influenced the ins company to release more funds later on. Thank God! **** Then on top of that, the quality of work was Outstanding. His prime employee, Jake was faithful, diligent, well-measured, and committed to excellence. We removed a wall, a pantry, replaced an island, extended countertop space another 10 feet. See pics. Mike Carr and Rumble Bee Tree Service did an outstanding job for us. From the minute Mike arrived to review what I wanted done until the job was completed - he was outstanding! Large Ash Tree was trimmed/thinned to perfection and 2 other trees were removed. They cleaned everything up and left no trace of even being there working. I needed some additional concrete work done on our front step and Mike took care of that as well. Pricing was fair & reasonable! I'm writing on behalf of my elderly mother who engaged with Mike and the folks at Rumble Bee for some tree trimming. I just want to say that the outcome of the work was above satisfactory and the interaction very fair. Rumble Bee even went beyond the agreed upon tree limb work and offered to clean up some hedge work. They included this extra work without adjusting the quote. So basically for no-charge. They did such a good job of stump grinding that the nursery that brought us a new tree had no trouble placing the new one very close to where the old one used to be. Frankly Coughlin did a better job cutting back to the "branch collar" than our neighbor's service (the sign is branches that die back from where they were cut and leaves those big open knotholes in the trunk).
