I had initially thought we'd do a quick loop in under an hour but all told, we spent about two hours in the park. It does get pretty popular, particularly on weekends, but there were stretches where the crowds clear out and you can find space to yourself. Would love to come back here when the leaves change. Words can't really do the vistas justice. $15 for the parking/entrance fee (no fee if you walk or bike in). A little hillier than I anticipated but sneakers work just fine - we wore hiking boots and felt a bit silly. There are also plenty of benches scattered around for whenever you want to catch your breath or just soak in the moment. Watch out for that one massive pothole near the entrance to the park/by the check-in gate.

Be careful when putting the address into your navigation, especially Waze users, as it took us to the totally wrong location at first. Once you arrive, however, parking is pretty straightforward. It costs $10/car. The staff at the hut where you pay for parking was super helpful in letting us know what route would best suit our time constraints. We were even given a map! The trails were pretty clear, some maybe weren't as clearly defined as they could've been. Note for hikers: this does feel like more a stroll in the park as opposed to a true hike. Some hidden paths did feel like one, however, so don't be afraid to venture off what seems to be the most defined routes. We loved the views of the Boston skyline, harbour, and Hull, MA. This place is definitely worth a visit. I'm looking forward to coming back in autumn to see some good foliage!

So, last year, when I saw an event was scheduled to take place there, I figured it would be a safer time to visit. Well, yes and no. I wasn't the only person going, but because I wasn't the only person going, their parking lot was full, so parking was a bit of an issue. I checked out the grafitti, making my way around the folks standing or sitting around, to get a closer look at the rocks. I stayed on the grassy ground while I noticed some folks climbing up the rocky cliffs, both with and without rock climbing gear.

But don't let that hamper potential plans to visit this stunningly large (200 acres!) and very secluded, walk-able trail wetlands park hidden behind some shopping in Burlington. Parking can be tricky and I often park up at the Northeastern campus which is behind the Wayside Commons shopping center. There is an area in the left hand corner of the parking lot to enter right into some great trails which are all adequately labeled. The website lists other places near some soccer fields in both Woburn and Burlington. The trails are in great shape and there are maps to show you where it is a little worse in the wetlands section. I came across these once and ended up just walking up the side of the trail as opposed to right down the middle where the water sat. They offer monthly, guided walks that look like they are totally free, although I've never been on one to confirm. I believe it is the first Saturday of every month. If you're in the area, try to seek this out because I can guarantee you won't be disappointed. My dog loves it here too and it feels like you're nowhere near the city once you get deep enough into the woods or on the wetlands trails.

Featuring a spectacular view of the bridge, and also you can see the Science Museum and Charlestown and Downtown perfectly from here. It's amazing. A lot of people don't realize this park is so amazing, and probably one of the most beautiful in Boston. And yes they even have a rock climbing wall. It's pretty awesome and there's even a little sprinkler pool as well.
