    Custom RUFCUT denim tag
    Ian L.

I wear my raw greys to work maybe 3-4 days a week for work and some small rips started showing up near the back pockets and crotch area. I got a quick quote on online, dropped off my jeans, and picked them up one week later looking terrific! This is the second pair I've gotten fixed up here and I still highly recommend Rob and Rufcut for your designer/raw denim repairs! I really like the new shop as well versus the shack he previously had and I do hope he gets a lot more exposure and business at the new location. While chatting with him I learned of awesome developments such as a denim tailoring class he hosts at the shop and his desire to create create custom Rufcut denim for his customers. If I ever get enough expendable cash I might drop in to see what kind of custom fit I can get!

Don't miss out, stop in and say "Hi!"

I have three pair and counting! Way to go: take an historical item and make it personal. Thanks for the attention to detail and the enthusiasm for denim!

I was in Venice beach with my wife and we came across this antique shop…read more We were greeted right off the bat by an employee that made our visit extremely enjoyable by her charm and great personality. I was looking for an old belt buckle to go with an old belt I bought a while back. she pointed me to there buckles and what they had. Moments later, A nice gentlemen came out, greeted us. I saw behind the register on a shelf an old buckle that looked like a hammer from a distance but was an old tobacco pipe belt buckle he found from the 60s or early 70s that was a one of a kind piece and still actually worked and made of Solid brass. We talked and they didn't have what I was actually looking for but he didn't hesitate to open up a box of old items they had just sitting behind the counter and offer me a look. I happened to see one I could use and inquired on the price, he said it was on the house! I couldn't believe it, I insisted to pay and asked again, what would you take for this? He said again, it's on the house, just enjoy it! I had to come on here and rate his store a 10/10 for my experience. You just don't run into people that are kind hearted and want to make someone's day. Now, every time I wear this buckle I'll think of this store, the kind owner and his friendly employee. When I'm Venice, I'll always stop and give my business to Animal House Antiques and Consignment . Maybe I'll be lucky enough to bless someone else like he did.

Tons of pieces, vintage as they say. The selection of clothes and shoes were excellent. One of a kind pieces, gems, as well as tons of accessories. Since the name changed and they remodeled their store, I've been disappointed consistently, and unfortunately, it is no longer my go-to store for clothes. The way they've remerchandised the store is not user-friendly and has made it more difficult to shop... With some racks so low that I have to squat down to look through them and no longer organized by size (crucial for resale retail), so I don't even bother looking at them at all. As somebody who was in retail for a long time, I really hope they take note of this as I am sure it has affected their sales. Their prices have gone up quite a lot and their selection has not been as good as it used to be. I never see the same employee there twice, and the general energy in the store has not been as welcoming as it used to be. I've gone from stopping by twice a week to just a few times a year.

I dropped off two pieces of *designer jewelry* on March 31 and was explicitly told by the manager they'd be authenticated in "a day or two" and possibly included in their April 4 sale. She said they were perfect for their demographic and the festival season coming up. (Coachella began the following weekend.) That sounded reasonable--until I was completely ignored for **10 days** after five emails and four phone calls, and creating an account on their site which remained empty. From the Posh Duck (and what a stupid name): No updates, no emails, no calls--nothing. Meanwhile, this store had roughly $3,000 worth of my property and couldn't be bothered to acknowledge me after my repeated attempts. Their own in-store policy claims customers will be contacted multiple times via email and phone within seven days. That simply did not happen. Instead, I had to repeatedly chase them down with emails and calls that went unanswered. At one point, I seriously considered reporting my jewelry as stolen to the Santa Monica Police Department because the total lack of communication was that alarming. It's called, um, THEFT. When they finally responded on April 9, the excuses were laughable--apparently the 4/4 store "event" created a total communication blackout. That's not how any legitimate business operates. A quick email update takes 30 seconds. The complete disregard for basic customer service is staggering. To make matters worse, the manager contradicted what I was originally told, claiming longer authentication timelines that were never disclosed to me. The shifting explanations and dismissive tone felt like gaslighting rather than accountability. Then, instead of making any real effort to fix the situation, the owner essentially brushed me off, claimed everything was handled properly according to "policy," and closed the matter. No accountability, no apology that actually meant anything--just a cold, defensive response. Bottom line: I trusted this business with valuable items and was met with silence, disorganization, and disrespect. This was unnecessarily stressful and completely avoidable. There are plenty of consignment stores that actually value their customers--this is not one of them. Stay far, far away.
