This is a mixed review. 1. When I called and spoke to…read moreChris, he quoted $180/hr but also said that he believed our issue (pilot lighting on 2 heaters) would take much less time - leading me to believe I would be charged only for the time spent. He made no mention of a min. amount of time or money. So I said "let's do it". 2. When Spencer came to do the work, he was on time, is a lovely person and he got the work done in about 30 minutes. Needless to say, I believed I'd be getting a bill of under $100 based on my original conversation with Chris. 3. I recd the invoice today. $206 for 30 minutes of work! I called and spoke to a representative who said that the hourly rate was $190 and that there was a minimum of 1 hour service hence I owed $190 plus sales tax. I said I was shocked and did not expect this, to which she replied "okay". Terrible communication and lack of full disclosure of their policies. I am only giving two stars because Spencer was great.

Art's Plumbing was recommended to me by Paul Davis during an very difficult time with mold remediation and reconstruction in the middle of winter. Art did extensive and outstanding work for me then and over a period of months. (1) He replaced an old Slant Fin boiler and hot water heater with a Navien tankless combo system and water circulation pump for on-demand hot water at all faucets. (2) He installed a top rated descaler unit for the Navien unit. (3) He replaced the piping, drains, and the shower fixture in the bathroom. (4) He installed new hot water heater baseboards in three rooms through tile and wood. (5) He removed my 73 year old cast iron sewer system under the house as well as the old clay sewer system outside house after a backup that caused 2 leaks in the cast iron under the house and tree roots outside in all clay piping. He disposed of old piping. (6) He removed and replaced old corroded gas line pipes throughout the house and disposed of old pipe. (7) He secured proper permits and worked with the county and inspectors and line locators throughout these projects. (8) He replaced an old toilet with a new one and installed a hand-operated bidet on it. (9) He put the dishwasher and washer back on line and repaired a bad leak in the washer line. (10) He installed crawlspace vent fans for me to keep the area dry. It has been a real pleasure working with Art, Adrian, and crew. They are very professional, very hard working, courteous, friendly, communicative, extremely knowledgeable (and able to come up with innovative solutions to some difficult problems). They are exceptional people to be relied on and trusted. They always made a great effort before work and after to keep all areas clean. When they say they'll be at your house, they will be! Top Notch company! Top Notch people!

We hired Art's Plumbing to remodel our shower and to move the floor drain. We were originally told…read moreby Adrian they would work on a 'time and materials' basis of $200 per hour. The assistant plumber was left to excavate the floor and the lead plumber didn't return to the end of the day. (Our radiant heating pipes were damaged during their work.) We were then told that the business owner would need to approve the continuation of the project. Four days later Adrian called to say the remainder of the project would cost $2,600. We opted to finish the project with another local plumber who we could trust. Art's would not be responsible for repairing the radiant floor pipes they damaged because we opted to finish the job with another plumber. We wouldn't use Art's Plumbing again if they were the last plumber in Santa Fe.

When I called the office and explained that the service was urgent, April explained that all electricians were busy but she would try to check with them and call back. I have not received a call back and assumed that she was unable to find someone. Surprisingly, she called me next morning and apologized for not being able to arrange service and not calling back on the same day. So, than two days later I still was unable to find an electrician, I called April again and asked to schedule service for the closest available time. April called back within hour and saif that someone would come to look at the job immediately and if it's not too big, will do what's needed. The electrician arrived in 10 minutes, assessed the job, called the office to inform of approximate time, received permission to do it and finished the job perfectly in 1.5 hours. The price was reasonable and I felt that this business does their best to serve their customers. I plan to use them again in the future.

He also re-roofed the house and provided a limited 10 year warranty, which will now serve the Buyers. After owning the house for 14 years, I'm selling it, and the realtors and prospective Buyers who attended the first open house commented on the quality of the improvements and also the Venetian plaster work one of Julian's specialists worked on. One thing: With Always Construction, when bids are submitted, it's best to make sure that all the elements you are expecting from the project are stated there in writing. On his roof bid, he merely said he would seal the skylights, and since they are a part of the roof,I assumed everything having to do with the skylights would be included--not the case. One skylight had to be replaced. This was a misunderstanding, and we worked it out. Obtaining quality work in Santa Fe is not easy, and Always Construction provided it.
