Everyone said we had to go to the top of Castle Hill to watch the sunset, but the weather didn't…read morecooperate. I went the next day in the afternoon instead. You can climb several hundred stairs or take the lift. I went with the lift because it was scorching hot and I'd been walking forever. The panoramic views of Nice and the port are amazing. Definitely worth a visit. There's also a waterfall and other things to explore up there, but I mostly just enjoyed the view and headed back because of the heat.

Amazing panoramic views of downtown Nice, the sea, the port and an amazing cemetery located atop the park. A must visit. As an added bonus I got in a great workout climbing the stairs to various parts of the park. A must visit for anyone coming to Nice.

Absolutely stunning Cathedral in the center of old town Nice. It is definitely worthy of your time…read more There are dozens of beautiful paintings from the 18th and 19th centuries and one triptych that is new. A new triptych in an old cathedral? How could that be?? Yet there it was and it was gorgeous. Painted by Hugo Bogo and installed in May 2019. The chapel had burned and they needed to put new painting there. Such a sad story but the result was new art! Be sure to have an ice cream in the square and stop in.

Even tonight when we were leaving and pretty much everything in the area was closed, people were still hanging out here. Wonder what's going on, but who cares! It's a cool location to hang out and that's what matters in the end. Nice, is a great city and this place simply adds to the flavor.

The square is full of cafes with tables in the open air allowing for the Mediterranean sea breeze to tap upon the cheeks of their visitors. If you're into instagram, snap chat and TikTok this location is for you. The waterfall in this place is out of world. It is one of the most beautiful waterfalls I have ever seen. Also, this location has the most gorgeous views of Nice. I highly recommend adding this chateau to your itinerary. It is a spot that you don't want to miss.

We learned the hard…read moreway that there was an elevator we can take (we had an umbrella stroller with a baby in it) so we climbed the stairs and held onto her stroller at the same time, going up and down the stairs. Then we learned once we got to the bottom, that there's an elevator!!! Oh well, next time. I'll be back here next month so if we have a chance to stop in again, we'll remember to use the elevator this time around. Come here when the sun is setting, we went earlier in the day and it was pretty hot, even though it was foggy. Just be careful not to stay too late, they close the gates on you without checking.
