Over the past couple of years, during the course of renovating my home and landscape, I've interacted with many people associated with various disciplines of construction. My most recent project was the conversion of my front grass landscape to rock landscape. Based on previous experiences of friends and neighbors, recommendations, outstanding reviews, and fair pricing, I selected Rudy's Landscape for the project. Rudy assisted me with recommendations and advice on project design, plant selection, irrigation, rock selection, lighting, and overall appearance. Throughout the project, I was impressed with the quality of work and attention to detail Rudy and his crew dedicated to the project. They arrived on the day that was scheduled and worked relentlessly until the job was completed. I was equally impressed with their commitment to my satisfaction. Anytime there were options for completing an aspect of the project, Rudy would present the situation to me, allow me to choose the desired outcome, and execute it flawlessly. Going to keep this simple. I gave Rudy my budget, he not only came in as the lowest big, but while also offering extras (originally I just wanted demo with sod/rocks and a divider, but his bid included the walkway, so why not) while being available sooner than most of the other bids. I also appreciate how their contract isn't intimidating, but also guarantees their work for a year. They did everything by the book, plus they went above and beyond when some of his guys fixed my gate that was dragging, plus repaired my NEIGHBORS' fence that was damaged due to the recent storm. In the end, everything looks good, Rudy set my sprinkler system up for the sod upkeep, informed me he'll drop by in a few weeks for quality assurance, and if any issues come up I'm covered. read more

I was looking for a contractor to widen my concrete driveway. At 75 years old, this was beyond my ability even though in my youth I did projects like this, so I knew what I was seeking in a contractor. The first thing I noticed was the office was efficient and knew what they were doing. It was a pleasure working with them on this project. BTW, one contractor who did some work in my neighborhood didn't follow up with a visit and bid. Rudy made an appointment was there on time and we discussed the project. That afternoon, I had a bid from the office, which I approved. Rudy and his crew squeezed my project in within a week, as it was relatively small and he had another job in the neighborhood. That's a contractor that knows what he is doing and how to get things done. As the project started I noticed that he and his crew were concerned about doing all the little things right and not cutting corners. The excavation of soil, the grave fill, the rebar, and the concrete mix were spot on. The crew worked together well and they were always busy setting up the next stage as the finished the previous stage. There wasn't any wasted time and his 2nd and 3rd in command were self sufficient and competent. As with concrete, it isn't a one day project, and during the project Rudy and his staff, or the office, kept me informed as to the timing of the project. I never had to wonder when they would show up or what the future held. It has been about 3 month's now and the work as stood up to the rigors of the traffic and weather. Rudy and his crew are top notch. Having been in management, I could see Rudy knew how to select and train his crew. All of the above is why Rudy is now my go-to contractor. read more

These guys did a great job sealing my pond and fixing the pumps so the waterfall works better than it ever did before.

We originally hired Rudy's Landscape team be our regular gardeners. But when we found out all the different things they can do. So we asked them to replace our fence along with a retaining wall under it. They did a fantastic job. They we punctual, hard working, clean and very friendly, and easy to work with. If we wanted to change something, they were so patient. Thanks to all the workers, we appreciate you all! I was (key word was) a client of Rudy's for over 5 years. Over the years he let my dogs escape out of the side yard by leaving the gate open several times (no apology or anything. I was locked in at a $65 month rate so I put up with it at the time. The service continued to decline as he took on more customers. His leaf blowers would just blow all the leaves into a corner behind our shed instead of actually picking them up. He killed several of our established plants but trimming them improperly and killed several of our vines which took years to grow. The last straw was when his trimmer killed one of our plants by over cutting it and when asked him to fix it. He promised to come back and fix it by "giving his word". His word is not worth much, or anything for that matter as he never came back to address this issue. Really poor customer service. They call to get paid but won't call back if there is a client service issue. There are way better options for gardening services In Elk Grove. Buyer beware with this company. read more

We spent a lot of money in the summer of 2018 to get my property looking good. Rudy added some extra flowers for my front yard and he also added 2 small plastic fences surrounding the flowers. The fences were super cheap quality (they broke) and the sod he placed in the yard does not match the rest of the grass. The grass is still patchy, the colors of the grass are too varied (possibly being that there are different varieties of grass) and we feel we did not get our money's worth. read more

Fence repair failing less than 4 months. During mid-winter, I had a fence repair, replacing old fence boards with reinforcements of posts. By Spring, the fence is leaning and pushing the gate against the wall of the building. Now the gate will not open, bc it is stuck leaning against the building and holding up the leaning fence. Well, now Rudy's landscaping is charging me to fix it. I asked for extra reinforcements to make sure it stays fixed, they are charging me more for reinforcements. I find that very unreasonable. I am still negotiating. i hope for a reasonable ending. i will update you at the end. read more

I was a customer for many years until they decided to fire me as a customer by telling me they have decided to stop doing residential and moving to only do commercial jobs. Yet in the same week they started with new residential customer who went to them based on my personal recommendation. I decided not to confront them because you can't fix dishonesty. Rudy-the owner is a genuine/honest man...with that said I'm not sure he's aware of how his office staff treats his clients. Signed contract detailing services provided for a one time clean up fee and weekly landscape maintenance. Clean up workers arrived with no direction as what contract entailed. The workers, through no fault of their own neglected to finish contractual services. Called to follow on Clean Up contract requesting work to be completed and was never able to communicate with Rudy, only the office staff. I left numerous messages for Rudy and was finally told Mari never forwarded the messages to him. Mari/Staff stonewalled any type of communication with Rudy. I feel that this issue could've been easily resolved with a quick conversation with him. Mari prevented Rudy a new client. Needless to say, I've cut my losses, paid the bill for cleanup and have moved on to another company. read more
