However, I had to come back in and get another ingrown out that I thought I would be able to get myself. It left it a fragment which caused pain. And needed medical intervention. I anticipated the needle going into my toe and being anesthetized like the time before, but Dr. Johnson said it would be small and no big deal. He proceeded to use some freeze spray (which only takes maybe the initial sting away) and then went right in. He operated quickly, and intensely, being very rough never offering to stop or providing anesthetic besides the initial freeze spray. He made comments to me acknowledging he knew how much pain I was in. Stuff like "Oh I know, bad doctor bad doctor" and continued to cut all the way to the nail matrix. With NO anesthetic. I can only imagine this is what true torture feels like. After the procedure he stuffed cotton under my raw dug out toe nail while I wailed in agony. Don't think it's standard procedure to do that to someone without anesthetic. It was torturous and completely unnecessary. He showed no empathy or remorse and didn't ask me once if I wanted anesthetic. Cost me $50 and the worst pain I've ever felt. I'm not coming back. And highly advise others to consider going elsewhere to have your ingrown removed if you value being treated with respect like a human being. After the procedure I was burdened with a week's worth of nightmares regarding the experience along with emotional distress and lots of crying. I feel like Ive been completely violated and will continue to use my voice and speak out about the medical malpractice I experienced from this doctor.

Dr. Mark Glodener has been my primary care physician for many years now. The longest I have ever…read morestayed with a primary care physician. He not only addresses what is bothering you, somehow he is able to pickup on things I didn't even notice were wrong with myself. His bedside manner is wonderful I believe he is a doctor that cares about his patients more than they may care about themselves. That is why I sent my "doctor adverse"husband to him. He has been in practice long enough to have great contacts for specialty work. His office staff is always nice. They answer the phone. The nurse really does return calls. I just hope Dr. M Glodener loves his job so much that he doesn't retire anytime in the next decade or two. Not a lot of doctors are going into general practice these days. He knows my long and complicated medical history. I consider him to be amongst the things I have been blessed with. I hope he knows how much he means to his patients.

I was simply told that the nail needed to be completely removed, without being offered other treatment options\. I was uncomfortable proceeding with such an invasive treatment without further evaluation, so I sought a second opinion\. The second doctor actually examined my foot, tested the nail, diagnosed the fungal infection, and prescribed medication\. Thankfully, the problem was successfully treated without having my nail removed\. I'm very glad I trusted my instincts and got another opinion\. If a doctor is recommending removing an entire nail, I would expect a thorough examination and a discussion of less invasive treatment options first\. I was also surprised that this office passes the credit card processing fee on to the patient\. I'm already paying for the medical visit, and then I'm charged an additional fee simply for paying by credit card\. I personally have not encountered this at other doctors' offices, and it added to my disappointment with the experience\. Between the lack of a hands\-on examination, being given only the option of nail removal, and the additional credit card fee, I would not return to this practice or recommend it to others\.

Possibly the reviewer isn't aware that doctors and Nurses have to go thru standard procedures when dealing with Insurance co, or they won't be willing to fund the service. Usually conservative treatment goes first and you build up to more extreme measures. Talk about entrapment! If you use them, be very careful to not answer any questions the Doctor ask you as they will use this as an opportunity to hit you with a sneaky bill. It is nice they respond to the reviews in this forum, but please note this is not helpful as the phone number they give is the same one that you can't get ahold of anyone in billing and the email they give, no one responds to except to say they are unauthorized to help.
