Part 1: treated my…read morebest friend to a spa day, I was her maid of honor and it was the day of her bachelorette party. Aside from the staff, we were the only ones in the spa so it was very relaxing and quiet. The spa had many ups and many downs. We had several services. Some great, others awful. Deep tissue massage - we both started with this and it was 5/5 excellent!! The room and blankets were warm, our privacy was ensured and respected. The massage therapists were absolutely incredible. I believe we both did an hour and it was the most amazing hour ever. Facials - after the massage, we both got facials, which again was absolutely amazing. Very relaxing and I didn't have any problems with my skin after. 5/5 excellent! Pedicures - after the facials, we got pedis. Not that great of a service and felt like it was rushed. My best friend and I have a tradition where we either pick each other's colors or we get the same colors. We decided to pick each other's colors and I loved what she had picked for me, but it didn't turn out nice. She loved the colors I picked for her and loved her toes. I rated my experience a 3/5, she'd rate it a 4/5. I most likely would not get another pedi here; for the cost it was unremarkable and not worth it. After the pedis, we both split and did something different each. This was an absolute train wreck and where the entire spa day turned into a dumpster fire (especially considering how well it started). I got a hair cut and blow out - the woman cutting my hair did not seem as though she had much experience nor did she move gracefully; she often stopped and would double/triple/quadruple check my hair after every other snip. Every time I get my hair cut (which in this case was really just a trim so I wasn't being picky) I ALWAYS ask the person cutting my hair if it matters where they part your hair when they start cutting; this is how you know you have an experienced/properly trained person or not. I personally part my hair on the left. She parted my hair in the center after it was washed. I asked her the question and said "no it doesn't matter, the hair lays the same way regardless of where you part it" red flag identified, but again I was getting a trim and didn't make a big deal out of it. After the cut, she left to attend to my friend who was getting a make up application (see that train wreck below). She has another woman (she was pretty young, maybe early 20s) who was extremely oblivious on how to do a blow out. The blow out took 25 minutes (my hair is just below my shoulders, should not have taken that long), and she did not use a brush to give volume or evenly distribute heat to my hair. She literally left my hair down, teased it ever so slightly with her fingers, and occasionally combed it. She also positioned the hair dryer (which she kept on low) facing up the shaft of my hair which generated a lot of frizz instead of down the hair shaft. Needless to say, the hair service was horrible. Something so simple took so long and I felt like the women tending to it had no idea what they were doing. Again, I'm not picky when it comes to my hair and I didn't make a big deal out of it, but I could see others absolutely livid if they experienced what I did. I rated this service a 0/5. If you want to read part 2, see the four pictures I posted!! Apparently I used too many characters and have to separate the two.

I booked both with Pyper I went in at 930am and didn't leave until almost 1pm for a pretty simple hair/makeup look. I have had my hair/makeup done for quite a few weddings, and have never had a stylist take this long. Pyper didn't really follow with what I wanted for my hair or makeup even after showing her photos of what I wanted. Yes that is partially on me for not telling her as we went along what should be fixed, but she was taking so long that I gave up and just let her do it or else it would've taken even longer to finish. She had to redo a simple braid on the side of my head 8 times (yes I counted each time she redid it). The updo part was supposed to be a bun type thing but there were pieces hanging out of it. Not what I wanted. Again I should have told her to fix it but I was in a rush since it took her 3.5 hours to do it (1hr was literally doing a simple braid). The only thing she did do well with was prepping my hair with texture powder and heat protectant. The eye makeup was a hot mess and barely blended in, I ended up having to fix it at home. My under eyes were patchy and cakey. I again fixed it at home. The false eyelashes wouldn't stay on, which I have never had issues with when a "professional" has put them on me. Where my everyday makeup lasts 12+ hours, this makeup did not. I was very disappointed in it. I thought long and hard about posting this part of my opinion/review, but I am almost positive that Pyper was high because her reactions were severely delayed, her eyes were bloodshot, and when other stylists were talking with their clients, she was responding to them but very quietly. It was very odd. When she was curling my hair she kept turning the curling iron off... It was about $130, which isn't overly expensive for hair/makeup, but still pricey for what I received. I regret spending the money, I would have been happier doing my own hair/makeup after the results. I was in such a rush to leave since it took a ridiculously long time to do, that I didn't get any photos of my hair to post. I would give this place another try, but definitely not with Pyper. I saw the stylist "Mel" doing girls hair for prom and it looked incredible. She did two girls hair in the time it took Pyper to do just my hair. And the hairstyles Mel did were way more involved and looked great. If I go back, I'd go to Mel. I don't recommend Pyper at all. Makes sense why her schedule was completely opened on a Saturday during prom weekend. But I am willing to try another stylist one day.

I got my hair done here probably about a year ago now. My husband saved up to treat me for my…read morebirthday because normally I can't afford to get it done and just have to butcher my own hair at home. Besides this visit, I have not been to a professional for at least 5 years. The woman who did my hair was very nice but something about the shop made me very uncomfortable (nothing was wrong with the place, idk if I was feeling claustrophobic or something? It was just hard to relax for me personally). I brought reference photos for the color I wanted (a medium shade, cool-toned purple) I made it very clear when I walked into the appointment that I understood if the color wasn't possible as I still had quite a bit of aqua blue throughout my hair from a particularly bad botch job I had done at home (I'm ashamed to confirm it was splat). I was very open to having a conversation about other color options if what I wanted wasn't doable within my budget and said as much during our conversation. I was told it was doable and then waited while she searched and searched for the purple hair dye. It wasn't until she was halfway through applying it that she says "well, some of the blue might show though, and there might be a little green, but I still think it'll look really good!" I was a little worried at that but thought as long as everything was kind of blended it would be ok. My hair was already a bit damaged (probably needed 1/2 an in to an inch trimmed after the dye when I walked in which, again was discussed prior and she had felt the damage herself). While my hair was processing, she said she needed to go do something in another room which was totally fine with me, but she left me sitting for 20 minutes longer than what she had told me I should and didn't address the fact that I was left to over process with already damaged hair. When it was time for the cut I told her I didn't want her to take off anymore than was necessary but I needed her to chop all the dead away (understanding she would have to chop a decent amount) so my hair could start getting back to healthy, I also said I wanted face-framing layers. When I left the salon, the color was extremely dark in comparison to the samples I had shown. The color was also extremely patchy as my roots were an entirely different color from the rest of my hair and there were some pretty severe blue and green splotches all throughout. She did not give me any layers, let alone face framing ones, and worst she didn't chop off all the dead. I'm assuming from the over processing, I had at least another 2 inches of damage from when I had walked in and she didn't bother to chop off more than 1/2 an in of my hair. To her credit, she did ask if I was pleased and I lied to her. I don't often lie but I have really bad social anxiety and the idea of telling a nice lady that my hair was not only nothing like what I wanted but is kind of destroyed would have literally sent me into a panic attack and I was already trying not to have a breakdown about my hair. I said it was great, paid, and literally took pictures on their porch tearing up to send to my husband. I, of course, could not afford to go to another salon (still haven't been able to). After the first few washes , realizing it wasn't really lightening, I bought color oops from rite aid which of course caused more damage but I didn't know what to do, I hated my own hair so much. I got a majority of the color out, used a color depositing conditioner, and gave myself yet another hack job. The cut wasn't great (infact it was absolutely terrible as I had never had to cut off that much in one go and I butchered it). My hair is still recovering from this (it's finally starting to feel more like hair than straw and it's actually curling again...somewhat at least). My cut is still absolutely horrible as my "layers", if you can even call what I did to my hair that, are choppy and uneven and all over the place and my hair is just constantly a frizzy, poofy, mess. For a long time I wasn't going to leave a review, especially because I did tell the stylist I was pleased which is my fault and I should have been honest, but I am still dealing with the effects all of this caused on my hair all this time later and it was not my fault that I was not fully warned about how the color would interact with my hair before being applied, nor that I was left so long before being rinsed, and I'm honestly confused as to how she could have thought she cut off my dead ends when my hair felt like a poorly cared-for 20 year old Barbie doll's would. I do not mean this to be hurtful or rude but this has been bothering me for quite some time.
