I booked a reservation here today and the first time I could not reach someone. The second time I…read morecalled, someone picked up and I was able to get my reservation set for the next two days. When I got here, I found out that my room was a queen bed suite WITH A JACUZZI HOT TUB in a TV room (picture 22 of 79 on this Yelp entry). I felt like my bucket list had one more check mark. The lobby looks nice and they serve free popcorn! But then I found issues: The hotel room door is not properly set and so it rubs against the frame when closing it. This same thing happens with the bathroom door as well. The hot tub/ jacuzzi has three buttons, one of which was completely gone. The other two knobs, one was about to come off and the other just did not work. Luckily, this hotel is not on my dime, it is on my employer's; however, if I was a high tier rewards member and I got this room for points, I would be so mad! The area where the hot tub/jacuzzi is in does not have great lighting. One could sit in it and enjoy it if one allowed the sunlight to come in during the day; but there are no ceiling lights and the lamps, three in the room, are placed around the rest of the room as to not allow enough light to shine on the hot tub/jacuzzi part of the room. The room has a microwave and mini fridge, but no coffee maker! Good points: The cable is amazing though. Sports channels, Travel, History, etc. The suite has two t.v.s, one t.v. in the hot tub/jacuzzi part, which is a bit tough to turn on and find the cable option. One has to turn it on, go to live t.v. and press that icon. There are so many options as it has Roku, so Youtube, Netflix, etc, are at one's disposal (I just wanted regular t.v.). 10/01/2025 The breakfast this morning was not bad, but really minimum. There was gravy, biscuits, omelet du fromage (cheese omelet), bacon strips, and hash browns (look close to McDonald's ones). There is no prepackaged bakery products. They also have a make your own waffle section, yogurt in a fridge and a bowl of fruit (apples, oranges, etc.). I don't know, maybe that would be good for an economical hotel; however, I am used to seeing these items put in metal buffet containers (I guess to give the illusion that there is a lot of food). They also had one type of decaffeinated tea (which is great since I drink tea in the afternoon, but do not want to be awake all night) and hot chocolate packets (some generic brand of which I still have to do my research to find out). They had one green tea bag, which means they will have to replenish those soon? I want to really see if this hotel will rotate into some other items tomorrow. I will update. Coming back from my business trip from another city, later today, I had asked if they kept coffee machines in the rooms (I ended up getting another room because of the broken jacuzzi/hot tub) and this hotel does not keep any. The only way to get hot water is by the breakfast area. If it ends up finishing, one must tell the front desk. I needed my decaffeinated tea and this is one workaround I had to confirm. 10/2 So I checked breakfast today and they do not really rotate, as much as, make things look a bit different. I mean they had sausage links instead of bacon strips, which was a nice change. They still had biscuits and gravy and they still had the hashbrowns. They had scrambled eggs (probably egg beater) instead of the omelet with cheese they had yesterday. The room I had did not have any issues, it was more of a bummer that they could not find me an equivalent jacuzzi/hot tub room when I had told them the issues of the one I was in for the first night. Well, I hope they ended up fixing the jacuzzi/hot tub so a rewards member can at least get their points worth.

Recently finished our stay at Days Inn in Madisonville, and our experience had its pros and cons…read more As a whole, the hotel did what it was meant to and gave us a place to stay while in town. I figure the best way is to organize this in list format: Cons: - I wasn't SUPER impressed with the customer service we received at any point other than check out. At check in and when our room keys didn't work, we stood at the desk for 10-15 minutes before someone assisted us. Investing in a bell at the desk would take care of that, for sure! - The complimentary breakfast was pretty lackluster in comparison to other Days Inns we've stayed at. - The side doors around the building did not require a room key to enter, which was a tad concerning security-wise. - Upon check in, parts of our room didn't seem to have been cleaned. There were some black stains on our pillowcases, as well as crumbs in our bed. - A few of our outlets didn't work in our room, so my phone charged in the bathroom, lol. Pros: - Free parking that was more than accessible. We never had to park far from an entrance. - The pool is AWESOME. They aren't lying when they say "Olympic Sized". Try to make time to swim if you're staying there - The location is great, and close to mostly everything. Like I said, Days Inn did what it was supposed to do. The price was a plus, too, and I would say we got what we paid for. Definitely a no-nonsense hotel that I'd stay at again.

If you want something cozy, clean, a little more modern, less rundown ... go somewhere else. I won't go back just because I don't ever want to deal with the rude, incompetent owner again. Whoever built or "fixed" this place: poor construction skills. Holes everywhere. Stained furniture. Dirt in every "obvious not obvious" corner. Hairs on the toilet seat, in the bathtub, on towels. Surprisingly, the white bed sheets were fine, and that's all that mattered to me. And no, those hairs weren't mine (black; I have red hair). When you sat down on the toilet (after a good disinfection by yourself, I recommend) it felt like you're crashing through the floor because it was so wobbly. Somebody tried to fix it with a little bit of cardboard. Toilet worked, shower water pressure was ok. Showerhead and mirror were too low for anyone 5'11 +. Bathroom had an odd smell, the vents were noisy. Upon entering the premises, first thing you saw was some messy looking storage room for paint and construction materials. It even had a sign on it that lead you to check in down the parking lot. I don't know why any good motel owner would want their guests' first impression be this room. Parking was no problem due to lack of guests. Pool was filled with dirt/soil. It's safe due to lack of foot traffic. Madisonville can be rough, but you're more off the freeway where there's nothing. If you need to get gas, food, or shop at Walmart, that's closeby. Walmart 10 min, a Cracker Barrel that you could walk to probably, ... It's quiet although the freeway is conveniently right there. When I checked in, the door to my room was wide open but after of a long day of traveling I didn't care. The door needed to be slammed from the outside and pushed hard from the inside to really shut and lock it. The next evening I came back to find my door being open again. Luckily, nothing had been stolen and everything seemed untouched. I could tell that the room hadn't been cleaned either, so I went to speak with the owner (and his wife as only staff), and requested that nobody goes into my room for the rest of my stay. I didn't want to risk anyone leaving my door open again and I just prefer it that way in general. (Side note: There was no "Do not disturb" sign to hang.) All hell broke loose. First, he denied that the door was open both times, basically calling me a liar. Then he insisted that nobody went into my room, therefore couldn't have left the door unlocked. So a burglar would leave my Macbook behind and a perv wouldn't touch my personal items?! I don't know if the owner doesn't respond well to females telling him what to do, or if he needs some training in hospitality, but he kept arguing with me and couldn't simply honor my request to not clean my room. It would have been so easy ... but this conversation escalated into a loud argument quickly, and ended with him following me to my door and me slamming it in his face. There were some men in the parking lot witnessing it all, incl. said open door. At some point he blamed it on the batteries of the key card reader, then he admitted he opened my door that morning but didn't enter my room as he thought I was still sleeping. That explained why my door was open: He didn't slam it hard enough to not wake me up. But it wasn't them, nobody else either, and they "have to" clean the room. Ridiculous. I didn't even care why or who - I wasn't even complaining although it is definitely an inconvenience (humidity and bugs got in) and safety concern (especially for a single female traveler). All I asked for, politely but firm, was that my room won't be cleaned. He became so defensive, aggressive, and rude, wasn't listening at all, ... I hadn't been this irritated, frustrated and simply mad in years! I stayed there only out of convenience (location and price, no nerve and time to move), although I'm sure every other guest would have checked out probably the first night.
