I need a lot of dental work because of my medical history. In a few short months Dr Grillo has done 5 crowns for me. I love that he's quick, painless and really smart. He has an onsite lab so I left with permanent crowns every time - NO temps needed here! But my best experience of all was last night and this morning. I broke a crown in my front top last night (Thursday). Their office is closed Fridaysvabd it's Labor Day weekend. I called the office Thursday after hours, pressed "0" for emergencies and Dr Zack Grillo picked right up. Long story short, we met at his office Friday morning and 2 hours later I had a new, beautiful crown and am ready for the holiday weekend. Can't say enough about Dr Grillo's skill, tact and professionalism. Great practice all round including ing front desk, hygienist and the dentists here. I'd give 6 or 7 stars but 5 is the limit!!

My next concern was the amount of work that would need to be done to repair the damage done over the years. Best choice I have ever made was making that initial call and going to the appointment! Never once has anyone on his staff caused me to feel bad about myself or how bad my teeth had gotten. I have always found these folks to be kind, gentle and professional. While I might have shed a few tears (of happiness) when the work was done, the look on Dr. Norige's face said it all. He is truly committed to helping people feel better about themselves and educating you on how best to care for what you have. I will never find the way to thank him and his staff for all they have done for me. I can only hope that as you read this review you make the choice to make the call!

The office is clean, staff are friendly, and scheduling is very accommodating. I had to have one small cavity filled that was on the side of my tooth that was touching another. I have found Dr. Norige to have very nice bedside manner in the past however found him now to be quite dismissive. When I asked how exactly that type of filling is placed he glossed over my question and left me to ask my questions to the dental hygienist. On the day of, I requested no novocain as from the X-ray, the cavity appeared quite superficial and I have had cavities filled in the past with no novocain. Dr. Norige stated he would not do the work if I did not receive novocain and refused to tell me how deep into the tooth he planned to go, ect, or even have an educated discussion with me about it. Following the work I asked what material was used for the filling and how long I can expect it to last as I have read peer reviewed articles about the life span of fillings, Dr. Norige again was dismissive of my questions stating "It will last a long while you don't have anything to worry about". I am a medical professional pursing a law degree, so I found it quite bothersome and disrespectful to be talked down to and dismissed without my questions being answered. I will be thinking long and hard about if I will continue to support South Windsor Smiles with my business.

For many...many years I had not visited a dentist until a dental emergency finally brought me to Dr. Norige's office. Scared, embarrassed and in pain I was greeted with sincere kindness and compassion--without judgment. The entire team really wanted to help their newest patient. Dr. Norige has assisted me in managing my "dental anxieties", takes the time to listen, explains options and procedures. My procedures so far have been surprisingly painless (that includes extractions) and the anxiety dissipates as soon as I walk in the office. I never had a dentist so concerned about payment. Every two minutes he keep telling me how much it was going to cost and how much I could get a day with my debit card.
