I got the lobster ravioli to start, the cod as my main (which was on mashed potatoes and butter), and the strawberry pavlova (a meringue-based dessert) for dessert, and definitely left feeling full. My dad got the marinated salmon that came not as expected but still good - it is cold vs cooked, and is a plate with a thin layer of salmon covering it and is marinated with lime. He then got the duck for his main and then the chocolate cake with blood orange sorbet which I didn't try but both him and my mother said was delicious. My mother ordered a la carte and got the lobster, which, for other pescatarians, note that it comes with chicken in it, as well as some mushrooms and small noodles. She said it was excellent but was unaware of the chicken. Other than that, we got a bottle of sparkling water, lemon wedges on the side, bread (which is great when dipped in the lobster ravioli sauce as it tastes like lobster bisque), and coffee (which comes with little chocolate desserts too). Solid traditional 100% homemade cuisine--100% fresh produce and local producers are in the spotlight--and, as mentioned, the icing on the cake is the pretty terrace on a pleasant square. Apparently the star of the place is the cassoulet so I'm sure that is good! Fun fact- It is a bourgeois reference for most of the city, the cassoulet temple, a beautiful house on one of the emblematic squares of this chic Saint-Georges district. Chef: Chistophe Fasan

The cassoulet was great and enough food for two people. Overall I would recommend this restaurant. If you want to sit outside, I suggest you make a reservation in advance.

Located on a narrow side street in Toulouse's old town, only a removable sign indicated that  there is a restaurant in the back, no street front. You walk under an arch into a backyard of sorts. There is a sundeck with comfortable chairs attached to what appears to be the living space of a family. You are instructed to go to the basement. It's hard not to be at awe as you enter the cave. The soft glow by indirect lighting gives the space a soothing, or romantic feel, depending on your current mood. We decided to try the local dishes; the Lapin and the Cassoulet. Foie gras and Roasted Veal Salad. Brownies with licorice sauce with pistachio ice cream, and something called Paris brest with chocolate and praline ganache, strawberry and popcorn. A bottle Chateau Plaisance wine, from the Bordeaux area, complemented our meal well. All were exceptionally good. But it is the service that brings it all together. Even with the language barrier (our lack of French and their limited English) they managed to make us feel comfortable and well served. It wasn't until we were leaving that I found the owner spoke another language that we could have communicated with.  While traveling, I like to experience as many places as possible, but Les Caves de La Marechale is a place I can see myself going back, again and again.
