My car wouldn't start and my partner, my dog, and I were stuck in Uptown. Lately the car would struggle with the starter, but after 1-2 turns it usually turned on. I called Roza Roadside to get a tow/jump start sent and the guy asked some questions, pretty much diagnosing what might be the issue. Turns out, nothing truly was wrong but my battery was running low and the factory alarm went off, shutting off my starter. A reboot of the alarm (arm it, then unarm the car) fixed the issue! Spouse ran over a nail a few weeks ago and we ended up with a car with a totally flat tire in the driveway. Called these guys and they sent a tow truck over in about 45 minutes. The driver was super careful about getting the car (an SUV) on the truck without further damaging the tire. Towed the car to a nearby tire shop and they were able to repair the tire for only $40. I need my battery jumped started. I initially called at 10:45 and they said it would take a 35 minutes. I then called at 11:35 and they 20-30 minutes. Then I called 12:26 and they 5-10 minutes. Finally, I called at 1:15 and they put me on hold then hung up on me. I called right back trying to cancelling in which they put me on hold again. Yes, that's a total of 2.5 hours waiting. Save yourself some time and call someone else. All these good reviews are a sham. read more

The only reason I have kept waiting this long is because they told me there would be a cancellation fee to my card if I cancelled. He came back instantly and offered another jump. While chatting after the second jump, my car died again. Had to call roadside assistance yesterday as my tire went flat during work hours. I had no idea and was driving on it for a few good miles-including freeway. I'm happy they sent Roza, he called me to tell me he's running a bit behind because of traffic, understandable as it was rush hour. He was very nice and was telling me stories of his family. It's not ideal that you are 35 weeks pregnant(ONE WEEK FROM MATERNITY LEAVE) and having to be stuck at work because you don't have a spare tire. The seller lied and said there was a spare. Got my car towed and being that it was 6:30 pm, Costco and a bunch of other shops has already closed. He did his due diligence by calling a shop he knew, getting a price, and towing me over so I can get back across the bridge to home. I ended up getting used tires for 70 bucks, I heard my tires are rarer and because I drive an Acura MDX, the wheels are just hard to find and pricier. I was hesitant the whole time as I'm very pregnant and wanted just to get home to my family. He was great, stayed patient the whole time. He even stayed with me as my car tires were getting changed, think he sensed that I was highly uncomfortable in that environment. re-inspected the new used tires and gave me his thoughts. He even stopped traffic so I can back out of that tiny shop gates. As we were on the road, he checked to see if I knew how to get home. My tow was a difficult one due to the position of my vehicle AND the fact that my car wouldn't start. I would definitely use this company again if need be. It was already a bad night. I was supposed to finish work at 7pm. Instead, it was 3am. But I was gloriously finished. As I walked to the parking lot, I saw my motorcycle. With a sinking feeling, I saw the lights barely flashing. Someone had flipped on my emergency flashers and the battery was gone. Now, jumpstarting a motorcycle is exceptionally annoying. The alternator on a car is too powerful for the electronics in a bike, so if you don't know how to jump a motorcycle correctly, you can destroy the thing. I'd say I've had to fight with about 50% of the towing professionals I've ever contacted for a motorcycle jumpstart for just this reason alone. I opened Yelp and found somebody close. This is also usually a gamble, as there are companies that seed Yelp and Google with fake entries that all go to a call center, neatly allowing them to insert their parasitic selves into the money chain between you and somebody with a truck. Thankfully, this was not the case. A rather wearied man answered the phone. After exchanging pleasantries, he offered to come out for a sum that was, frankly, insufficient. Feeling committed at this point, I asked him to head on over. This was a wonderful decision. When he arrived in what seemed like an impossibly short amount of time (about 25 minutes), he hopped out of his car. He had forgone the tow truck, realizing that he would need a flatbed to tow my motorcycle if it were necessary. Smart guy, I thought. At this point he pulled out one of those little automatic jump things. As has been my experience before, this was not effective for my vehicle. In fact, my battery eagerly flatlined his device in a few minutes without actually starting. He then proceeded to pop his hood, start the engine, and recharge his device. I was worried when he pulled out the cables, until he shut the car off! This guy clearly knows how things work. It was a lovely sign of competence and professionalism. After finally getting me started, he unhooked and hung out the thirty minutes (and additional jump) that it took before my ride would successfully start on its own. I paid him 150% of what he asked and we parted ways. All in all, a cheap, quick, and positive experience. If you ever need a jump, especially for a motorcycle, I highly recommend Roza Roadside. read more

I found Roza Roadside Assistance on yelp after a very long and miserable day at work... everything seemed to be going wrong. I had gone to a tow yard on San Leandro St. to get a quote and get a tow. I was quoted $92 but was told I had to be at the location where the car was located so to call from there. When I finally arrived at the location of the vehicle I called the tow company and, big surprise, I was going to have to wait an hour (I was expecting that) and it was going to be $140 because I was going to need a flatbed. I work with cars and knew this was a load of BS! The reason that I was going to need a flatbed was because I was having a Honda Accord coupe towed, not a sedan. The car has front wheel drive, it is not a four wheel drive, and is not too low to the ground so there was not reason for the flatbed... other then to to rip me off. I finally called Roza Roadside Assistance and Phil said he would be out there in 25 minutes due to the traffic, it was rush hour, and that he would do it for less then the $92 I was quote by the first company. I was excited and relieved, he would be there much faster, and for less money... but I was cautiously optimistic. Phil arrived in quickly, loaded up the car in no time, was incredibly friendly, polite, and HE STUCK TO THE ORIGINAL PRICE!!! We went to the shop to drop of the car and the customer service was still awesome! I am so happy to have found him and his company on Yelp. I have his card and will definitely be using him again if I need anything in the future. My experience dealing with him was the smoothest and easiest part of my day. At 5pm, I called the office and the receptionist said owner Ken was out on a job, that she had the pictures and would talk to owner Ken. She asked that I call back tomorrow (Sat), that she would be there. I call back approx. 10am, male answers saying receptionist already left and owner is away for the weekend with his wife. I left one more message saying to please call me back, even to say they do NOT want this job so I can move on. How hard is it to callback a customer that you've been stringing along for almost two weeks? Luckily, I finally gave up waiting for this unresponsive, ill-managed and haphazard (tow) company. Haha, luckily I wasn't stuck on the freeway somewhere waiting for these yoyo's.
