We initially decided to drive past by but since we were in the area, we decided to give it a try and actually go inside. Glad that we did. We had lunch at Fire, did a flight of wines at Jones of Washington, bought cheese at the Cheesemonger, had gelato at Ice and topped it with a london fog from Cafe Columbia.

THe prices seemed comparable to Seattle area grocery stores or higher. I figured here it would be better pricing (less). I grabbed some teryaki sauce to use later at home and a post card, THere was so many people in line for ice cream. We decided a couple ice cream cones one scoop and man it was a huge scoop. THe ice cream for the win. The younger gentleman who rang me up was so kind a patient. The girl who scooped the first cone thought I didn't pay felt a little strange to me it was like she didn't believe her co worker he rang us up but moving on. We got our ice cream and headed down to a different fruit stand.

Located on the main street of Wenatchee, Wenatchee Natural Foods offers organic, sustainable items, with lots of locally made products. It's not the largest grocer, but the selection was fantastic. We were able to get some grocery items here during our weekend trip and also tried the items that they prepare at the cafe area towards the back of the store. At the cafe area, they have a large menu of different drinks, with smoothies that are worth checking out. I loved the chocolate smoothie, which they make with almond butter and vanilla whey, so it's naturally sweetened. I also ordered a bowl, which you can make based on the different ingredients they offer, like a base of rice or beans, with different proteins and veggies. I customized my bowl with rice, curry chickpeas, avocado and steak and seasonal veggies and it served as two meals, which was delicious. For those wanting to dine in, they have a seating area on the side of the store, with outdoor seating where it's dog-friendly. It's a win for Wenatchee to have a store like Wenatchee Natural Foods, offering a great selection of healthy, wholesome items in a community-centric setting. As well, their selection of oysters, muscles, clams, and ocean fish, is second to none! If you check with them in advance, they will tell you when the next deliveries of your favorite item comes in. And they will count out or cut exact portions to suit your meal planning. My most recent purchase was fresh mussels for paella.
