Royal Palm Place is a shopping center located on Federal Highway in Boca Raton. It is known for its pink color because of the pink stucco and barrel tile in the architectural style of famed architect Addison Mizner. The shopping center was built by the Archer family in 1966 in downtown Boca Raton as Royal Palm Plaza. Before the building of the Boca Town Center, it was known as THE place to shop. The Batmasian family purchased it in 1988 as an 88 store, 14 acre property. They redeveloped it and added residential, retail, and office buildings in the north area of the plaza and renamed it Royal Palm Place. Today it is home to over 20 restaurants and nightlife spots, high-end boutiques, salons and spas, art galleries, fitness studios, and luxury residences.
If you are looking for a new dining spot to try you have a plethora of choices here. Restaurants include Casimir French Bistro, Runas Peruvian Cuisine, Biergarten, Lemongrass, Chops Lobster Bar, Ichiyama Buffet, Sushi and Bar, Giovanni's Pizza, and many more. Don't forget you can also shop fashion and jewelry, pamper yourself at spas and salons, check out art galleries, find medical providers, and work out. The plaza is beautiful with a surprise around every corner. I love j just walking around the plaza and exploring which is how I found Morelia Ice Cream Paletas.
The only downside is parking has been a problem here for years. With Mizner Park next door, people have been known to park here and wander to other nearby destinations. To combat this problem the Royal Palm Place implemented a new parking system this month. Now you must scan the QR code on one of the signs on the parking lot and register your plate. If you don't, you risk being subject to being towed away. I think they are walking a fine line between protecting their spaces for the customers of the tenants here and making the customers they need mad. Time will tell how this all works out. read more
