I didn't think we'd make it through before the pool closed. I was wrong, luckily. They have an adults only pool and spa, and an open pool, spa, and lazy river. They were all relatively well kept, though there were multiple bottle caps at the bottom that we kept stepping on. The ones that were there the night before were still there the morning after. The pool staff were really nice. They had already run out of towels at the counters, and the guy went to get us some freshly cleaned ones from the utility room. Much appreciated. The rooms were very nice. We stayed in the king suite, very well laid out. Only complaint is they had a steamer and not an iron. Doesn't work the same, but oh well. The decor was nice, the bed was comfortable, the AC was rocking. Really enjoyed the room. Whomever stayed there previously not only changed the time on the clock, but set an alarm at an ungodly hour. Well played. The casino is a bit smaller than Golden Nugget across the street. The lower ceilings give it a smaller, cozier feel. No luck on the slots here, but we did get into some blackjack. Under the tutelage of Justin T. I now have a new favorite card game. I had previously stayed away from the tables. By the time we checked in all the restaurants had closed, so we didn't get to try any of the food here. The wait staff in the casino were not very attentive and did not return with our drinks. When we found the guy later in the same spot that we ordered in, he said he had been back and that we had left even though we hadn't moved since we had been there. Always fun catching the BS. So well I can rate the lack of service, I can't rate the quality of the drinks because I didn't have one. Maybe next time. Parking here is easy, there's a huge lot outside. They also have garage parking, which I prefer. Have your car out of the elements. Overall really good stay, would definitely come again.

This is my second time out to The Nugget. The place is very nice looking on the inside. We came in…read morethe evening on day one, and also returned the next morning prior to departing the area. One star down, because they allow smoking in the building. Absolutely hate it. The evening trip was smoke everywhere. Interestingly, the next morning, there was very little scent of smoke remaining, so their AC puts in work. They were also replacing doors and equipment, and repairing areas to keep it in good condition. Half of the casino floor was closed off for some reason in the morning, likely remodeling or cleaning. I like a clean facility. They seemed to do a good job at cleaning as there weren't any glass cups or other trash hanging out. Security folks were nice, and very efficient. We weren't able to get on the black jack tables, too crowded the first night for the minimum we wanted to play at, or too few tables the next morning. So we hit some slots. Parking is easy. Garage and lots are available. Personally prefer the garage for the ease. We went to the Saltgrass restaurant on the premises, it had absolutely awful service. I won't take that out on the casino, it will get it's own review. Will definitely be back to the casino again. Always a good time, especially with the right people.

The room: check in was incredibly easy and they have a kiosk for self-service. The room itself was clean, spacious, and had all the typical ammenties one would look for. I assume most people who stay at casino hotels don't aoend too much time in the room, but if one did want to do that then this is a great choice. The bed was nice and soft, pillows fluffy, and the bathroom was spacious. The gym was a typical hotel gym. There was an elliptical, bike, treadmill, and a bench with weights. I only used the treadmill, which seemed a bit old but did its job just fine. Downstairs you will find a Dunkin and pizza place. The Dunkin was perfect for a quick breakfast. The egg bites came out piping hot and were delicious. The latte was standard. The customer service was great. The pizza place is meh. Thick crust, thick layer if cheese, not many toppings. I would skip this next time. The casino itself was quiet but it was a lot of fun. I found a blackjack table and the dealer was super nice and taught me the rules. I had a great time.

Went to answer my phone, and the dealer was in the process of shuffling the cards and the pit boss decided to show he was boss and came up and said no phone usage period, did think fast enough to protest that the dealer was still shuffling the cards. Turns out some players have been caught cheating, using 2-3-hour phone calls to cheat. Pitch limits were usually $25.00 a hand, saw one of the two pitch tables go to $50.00 a hand on a Tuesday night, saw only one guy set there in 5 hours. The conventional tables were set at $15.00, with side bets. Noodles Restaurant is the best deal in the casino.

I play craps, and this place doesn't have table games, so I spent my time at the bar playing card games on my phone. This place seems to have plenty of slot machines. It didn't take Dad long to drop his $200, but such is gambling. The other geriatric patients that I overheard in the restaurant seemed to have the same experience. Though this joint is clean, it smells like an ashtray. I wish that casinos would consider that most people don't smoke these days. But, apparently the people who suck down heaters still drop money in their machines. Oh well. Parking here is free. The place is easy to navigate. If not for my dad, however, I wouldn't come here. And I definitely wouldn't stay in their hotel. If they added some table games and sent the smoking clientele to the back 40, my opinion might change.

I arrived at 1pm, having to assist in setting…read moreup the conference, only to not be able to check in until after 4 pm, meanwhile other conference attendees were able to arrive and check in between 2-4pm. The rooms are assigned before you get there, not first come first served. Golf tournament, they did nothing for attendees, as indicated in contracts. Food? Horrible. Rooms? Dirty, one towel for 3 nights (no housekeeping until the 4th day of stay) and an attitude when you try to get towels from the desk. Checkout is at 11, got to my room after closing ceremonies at 1105 to grab bags (I checked in 20 minutes after guaranteed time, mind you) to find the room key was deactivated. Staff couldn't open the door for me, to retrieve my already packed bags, "by new policy this morning". Also, the conference area is through the casino- so you have to show your ID to even attend the conference WHICH THERE IS NO ALTERNATIVE ENTRY OPTION. This is a horrible establishment, of which's operating procedures also make absolutely no sense. 0/10, would not recommend.
