Its a proper pub thats well worth a visit even if the live music isn't on for an hour or so. A motley collection of characters drink here and there are hand drawn caricatures of them on the walls, plus music memorabilia from over many years. I can't recommend this place enough. If you like your steak you will love it here they do a whopping 48oz steak for the hungry guys! Also a huge mixed grill, a massive stack burger called "the Beast" and plenty more other stuff to choose from, and home made chips too! The restaurant part of the pub is not too big so on Friday and Saturday it's booking or you will be disappointed but during the week it's quiet and you can just drop in. Prices are reasonable and servings are a nice size, drinks prices are also quite reasonable. I've eaten here a few times now and it's become my new first choice for meals out!

The pub sells all kinds of food and also provides a range of real ales as well as the usual drinks. The pub is up for let at the moment, and hopefully the new landlords will continue with the way it is being run at the moment. Cabaret entertainment is a staple at the pub, and there is always a lively and fun atmosphere inside.
