She was helpful and friendly - credit to her for that. The decor was nice, in the style of a nice country pub, living up to its Vintage Inn brand - warm, cosy and relaxed. The log fire was definitely burning on our Autumnal visit, you could smell it from the car park! The food was well presented, tasted superb and there was enough to choose from. Not sure on any offerings for kids, but it seemed like a more mature place, maybe for older families, friends and professionals to meet. Shame I didn't get chance to spend any time in the bar area, but no doubt I'll return for another visit.

Both our starters and mains only appeared after complaining to the waiter - any complaints were simply met wit ha shrug of the shoulders and a meaningless "sorry" Poor poor, very poor service - definitely wouldn't consider a return!

The chicken was very dry and the fried egg so over cooked the edges of the egg were brown and crispy. I would usually complain and request a properly cooked dish, however the table behind us were giving the waitress a hard time about their food we did not complain. But never again!

The Tamworth one, The Fox Inn, is very nice, with comfortable, low lighting, plus chairs, plenty of seating and some very nice touches such as artsy wallpaper and some nice art. The service here is pub service. It's friendly enough, nothing the matter with it, but nothing to get excited about either. There are some nice beers on tap, such as Spitfire, and the last time we were there, I tried a blonde bitter that was really interesting (had no idea one could combine the two!). The food is decent and not typical pub grub (though most assuredly much of it is frozen), you definitely get what you pay for, which is medium priced, decent food. Last time, hubby had the Seafood Mixed Grill, which was really interesting, with 6 different types of seafood, and all cooked well. Hurrah for the Fox, even if it is part of a chain.

The building is impressive but lacks in any form of character or atmosphere. I did have a few nights in there and it was normally overcrowded with bumping into person after person. There was always a trouble causing crowd in there too, who would be always looking for the next fight. The door staff have never been known for their friendly behavour either. Overall it is a very good place to go out for a cheap meal or a cheap pint. Would recommend for this not for going out somewhere fancy.
