This market is TINY. We stumbled upon it while we were prowling the streets one morning, and decided to go in (I am a sucker for local markets!)
It takes less than five minutes to get a lay of the land, because it's essentially one room, with as many stalls crammed in as possible. Off to the right (from the main doors) is a coffee/tea/pastry bar, and a small area of tables and chairs. Tucked in a corner behind that is an information booth.
Then, lining the other three walls, and taking up the bulk of the center of the room are the stalls. They've got vendors selling everything from hand-made goods and jewelry to baked goods and teas.
It's quite cozy in there, and as I said, it takes only a few minutes to make your first lap. That's pretty much what we did - one lap to get a feel, and then the next lap to start seriously viewing items. We finally ended up purchasing stuff on the third lap.
The people working the booths were all super friendly and inviting, without being overly-pushy in the "buy my wares, kind human!" sort of way. The people working the two booths we purchased from were there to answer our questions and help us in making decisions, but I never felt pressured to buy.
It's a great place to stop in, if you're interested in supporting the local economy. read more
