Everything seems to have been made by hand by talented artists and there's a strong proportion of cute and kitsch things that should appeal to indie kids and arty farty types. I opted for a strawberry kebab instead, which was heavenly but I have two reservations; I feel like I could have recreated it at home with a bar of good quality chocolate and some strawberries from Tescos. However, I did get the impression that in the huge big room of stalls and stands there were only about 3 or 4 different categories of things being sold. If you're the kind of person who loves browsing stall after stall of almost identical-looking glass jewellery or silver-plated chokers with semi-precious stones on them then you'll be in heaven here. Otherwise, you probably won't need to spend mor than 15 minutes or so here. That said, if you're in the area on the first saturday of every month then you should pop in for a browse.

There are some lovely homeware and gift items such as art prints, lots of jewellery, knitted crafts, clever wooden items and ttweed purses, cafetieres etc. This market is not well advertised, as like others, I came across it by chance one day. The hall location is good for all weathers and for picking up Morningside foot traffic when the sign is out. However, the downside is that there are so many good home and giftware shops in the Morningside and Bruntsfield area, that they have a lot of competition.

The shop has that cute parlor feel, with glass display counters filled with colorful bricks of fudge. It's clean and there's no seating, so it's really a grab-and-go kind of place. I usually get the variety box of 6, though they also have a box of 10. There are so many creative flavors to choose from. I have to get two Butter Tablets every time. They're deliciously crumbly and my favorite. I also really like the Highland Cream and Maple Walnut, which have a silky smooth texture. Next time I might try more of the fruity ones, like Chocolate Orange or Strawberries & Cream. One thing to know if you're bringing fudge home on a flight: pull it out of your carry-on and let the TSA agents know you have it. They may pull your bag aside for extra screening since the dense brick of fudge can look suspicious on the X-ray. It happened to me, so now I know. You're paying for the quality here, and it's worth it. They take cards, which is convenient. Overall Service: The staff was very nice. There were a few people cutting the line one time I was there, and I wish they had stepped in to help keep things in order for the people who had been waiting. They were young, though, so I chalked it up to them maybe not knowing how to handle the situation. This will 100% be on my list every time I travel back to Edinburgh.

The service is... quiet? I've never had a staff member approach me or ask if I need help, but when I've approached them, they've been quiet pleasant. Overall, it's well worth poking your head in the door but the price point keeps it from being a regular staple on my Stockbridge list.

I could have spent a couple hours oohing and ahhing over all the beautiful pieces contained in this shop. It's probably fortunate for my wallet that I had limited time. I do love the scarf and earrings that I bought. There is a wide variety of items at a large range of prices. Jewelry, home decor, knick knacks. Much of it feels like they are one of a kind sort of items. I believe the lady that helped us was the owner. She showed us where to find the bargain items and was very upfront about why they were on sale. She also took some time - even though we were keeping her past closing time - to answer our questions and to tell us about her travels - you can really tell that she is living her dream. Quite inspiring! Makes me want to follow in the footsteps of her travels and perhaps follow in her footsteps and find a way to make the passion for travel also my job.

They also offer a fantastic bespoke framing service. A few years ago I was looking for a very specific size and design of mirror. I asked for help on Twitter and Curiouser and Curiouser saw this and replied offering their services. I went into the shop, they made a framed mirror exactly as I wanted and of fantastic quality. If you are ever around Broughton Street area then I definitely recommend you popping in here. And maybe go to Treacle for some food after :)

Today the highlight of the wander was coming across this place. Filled with lots of cute and wonderful things - from books on how to knit zoo animals, greetings cards, ceramics and prints and artwork with price tags that won't break the bank. It appears to be a small family business and the staff are pretty relaxed and more than happy to chat; but the dog didn't seem all that interested in what was going on. I bought some prints for my living room, a book on print-making and a ceramic bowl for my coffee table. I could easily have purchased most of this shop. So if you're in search of a special card or gift, I can't recumbent this place any higher!

Tron Kirk is a cute little makers market that's housed within an old church…read more The architecture has obviously been around much longer than the market, but it's also something to appreciate while shopping the maker booths. You can find almost anything here if you're looking for a gift or something cute for yourself to take home. I will say that a few of the stalls did not seem like they had made their own products, and maybe bought a lot of something (like souvenirs) and are re-selling them for a pretty penny more. When we visited, though, I definitely focused on the stalls that had handmade items - jewelry, art, and even small things for my cats! It's a very adorable little market housed in a beautiful church, so definitely plan a stop there if you're interested in shopping around (you don't even have to buy anything, it's all just neat to see!)
