She voiced that she always felt at home and loved all of the activities and food. During the past two weeks, the love that the staff has provided has been amazing. First day, she was left in a wheelchair for over 3 hours, just sitting in her room. The nurse that was on shift claimed that she didn't know what to do with her and proceeded to state how she was an ICU nurse and that this was her first and last day at Ridgecrest because they couldn't afford her. She was extremely unprofessional and her lack of care, didn't go unnoticed. The wait time from call button to someone coming in, is roughly 45 minutes. Mind you my mother-in-law had serious health conditions that required monitoring and appropriate care to ensure she remains as healthy as possible. Unfortunately, Friday, January 30, she had swelling in her arm and requested that she be taken to the hospital. The nurses recommendation was vitamin K. After insisting, she was finally transported. Upon arriving at the hospital, she was in critical condition with her blood pressure severely low and declining. The emergency department and ICU did all they could to get her stable but to no avail. She has passed away, leaving three boys behind. Complaint has been filed with the state in hopes of saving someone else from this pain. I'm sure that there are staff here with good intentions, but it is blatantly obvious that they have poor management and lack the resources to care for their patients.

Because of Covid, family members can only visit on certain days for a short period of time. We were able to have a virtual birthday party for him using Zoom with family & grandchildren signing in to wish him Happy Birthday! I can't imagine him living at any other place. My mom came hear to get help rehabbing from a knee replacement. They were not ready to receive her and they began fumbling of each other. The front office staff is great but the Healthcare staff is horrible from not knowing when to shower to answer routine questions about changing bandages post surgery. I would not recommend this place to anyone not even my worst does not deserve this unprofessional treatment.

It was always a nice place till last directors over the whole facility and director and head nurse in Memory Care. The residents in Memory Care are not monitored as they don't have enough staff. The few staff they have cannot be found as they stay hidden in a back room and the directors know this. There have been residents that cannot feed themselves and if family members don't come feed them they can sit at table and not eat and sometimes sit there over an hour or 2. They ran out of food when my mom lived there. The food is not nutritional for seniors. Unfortunately the director and other leaders cares only about collecting money and is not qualified to work with seniors and especially Memory Care seniors. I pray for the quality of care for these precious souls. The Blake Waco needs to make changes quickly. It is very sad.
