To give this rating a one star is being extremely generous - minus one would be more like it! I paid for a 9am delivery for business post. It was an item that was needed for the start of the working day. My colleague has now lost a days work (after travelling up from Oxford to Motherwell) because Royal Mail couldn't deliver!! I phoned the Royal Mail HELPLINE after checking on their Track & Trace web page numerous times (what a joke) who told me that I was correct in stating that the item wasn't delivered, that it had been delayed but couldn't tell me why, and then that it would be delivered sometime the next working day - hopefully!!!!! The woman on the helpline went on to say 'of course, if it's lost then you will have to make a different claim....... AARRGGHHH!!!!! Could someone in authority for Royal Mail go and visit their colleagues in Motherwell and give them a huge kick up the rear end and make them work for their money please?????????? read more

A one Star rating is very generous. This sorting office is terrible. As previously mentioned. The opening times are a disgrace, the staff are useless. I have to wait 24 hours before I can even attempt to collect from this dump. As I work 9 - 17:30, I can only collect on a saturday morning. There is always a long queue and the waiting area holds around 4 people, so standing in the rain for long periods is the norm. They also seem to loose a lot of parcels, no explanation is give, just that the parcel is not there. Hopefully the Royal Mail will be privatised and whoever takes over will sort this prehistoric service out. In the mean time I think the Royal Mail should stick to letters only. read more

This is an absolute abomination of a sorting office. In fact, it's just an absolute abomination in general. Stupid opening hours mean I have to wait for ages when I'd rather be able to pick my stuff up straight after school. When the place does finally open, the waiting times are disgraceful and the staff are all wired to the moon. The waiting area is extremely cramped, and everyone has to move when someone opens the door. This office just highlights how bad Royal Mail are. Sure, in the end, I usually get my mail (apart from a birthday card that was sent months ago and still hasn't been found), but if a job's worth doing, surely it's worth doing to a satisfactory standard...? read more

Does anybody actually work in this sorting office or are they all sitting with their feet up singing xmas carols??? not at all like my local cumbernauld office where the guys and gals are run of their feet and can't do enough for you. A friend posted a very important letter to me on Monday 2/12/13 and I still haven't received it!!! where has it gone? All glasgow letters and cumbernauld letters have been received next day. Obviously Motherwell letters have literally falled down a well!!!!!! Come on guys, no wonder changes are afoot with this kind of service.... Get a grip... you would be sacked anywhere else...... customer service... nil points.... read more

MINUS 100 STARS-I have to join the list below of unsatisfied customers- Motherwell sorting office is a JOKE A police investigation should be looked into this place- It seems the amount of parcels that dissapear with no explaination is on the rise They never answer their phone I rarely ever send letters anymore but if am sending parcels it will be with another company other than royal mail, especially via motherwell sorting office !!!! not getting any of my goods (dvd boxsets,tops ect) that i have orderd from places like ebay...it would seem like the staff at this sorting office in motherwell are keeping them...!!when you call down they dont pick up!!I didnt have a problem before with getting goods before i moved to this area...I even posted a birthday card to my address (made it fel like it had money inside)did i get it NO!!! If the web-site says it is open to 7pm then why is the door locked and the place in darkness at 6-30pm. Either update the web-site or get staff to work the hours they are supposed to. How annoying is it to have to go out on a wild goose chase , drive all the way to the sorting office to then find it closed . I am in agreement with the other reviewers very poor service read more

iam very disappointed in royal mail ,in one week ive had two letters delivered to my home with different addesses on both of them ,they should have gone to two different places and not mine ,dont the post man care ,or the sort office ,i think both are at fault on this one .now this is a big one where is my mail going ?????????????does anyone care ,marion read more

Place is an absolute joke, get told they dont have your parcel, even though you have the red card! Get promised a call back, not delivered. Try to contact the office, no answer for 2 days so far and the main contact centre have no clue on how to resolve. A COMPLETE ABOMINATION. read more
