After the first week they really don't pay any attention to your needs, favoritism towards patients with insurance of course they stay longer, taking advantage of people that are in dire need of help and sometimes have no where to go; ( Speaking from my personal perspective ) I did everything opposite per suggested, guess what? over a year clean. If you want it you CAN DO IT! Be yourself. Glad it worked for some people. Shady Sands is highly recommended through the locals I hear. Hope this helped.

All I can say up to this point is that all our fears are gone. It is everything they claim it is online and more. She is being supported in every single way possible. From addressing her addiction, her mental health, physical health, everything. The facility reaches out to me weekly to give me updates on her as well. I have had alot of experience with rehabs and know that it's rare when you get ALL of these things or that what it claims it is online, isn't what it is when you get there. I just wanted to let anyone else that is in the position I was about sending your child there sight unseen, to know that you are making an excellent choice in choosing Wolf Creek, they are an amazing place!!

I was in treatment at "P" House for four months for issues with relationship, intimacy and sexual…read moreproblems. It is in fact a very community-based facility. That means living in a community with other men from all different walks of life, geographic areas, age differences, gender and/or sexual preferences. In reminds me somewhat of a military organization, in that people from all walks of life, economic positions, careers, etc. live together. This is in fact part of the treatment in learning how to become tolerant, share community responsibilities, self-govern (to a limited extent), and become a contributing member of a community. For some it is difficult, in that they have never had the experience or requirements to do so. It's about growth on an individual basis, in relational and interpersonal skills, in self-confidence, reliance on others, and examining the basis of your specific issue. Whether it's a substance or process addiction, there are many similar foundational actions, behaviors, traumas that contribute to our (clients) issues and helps build a bond between us (clients). One of the strengths of the organization is that nearly everyone of the staff, both support and therapists have been clients at Prescott House and are in recovery themselves. This gives them incredible "street creds", as they have been on the clients end and understand the issues the clients are dealing with. They also know how to get a client to look at themselves, take responsibility, learn how to change behaviors, thoughts, actions, and alternatives to the substance/process of choice. They are active in also working with the family of the clients, (those left to sit in the mess we left), and provide a space for family members to share the impact on them and integration back into the family, with boundaries, relapse prevention programs, relationship building plans. They also use whole person approach with using various outside practitioners, from spiritual advisors, fitness/health growth, life coaching/yoga, outside activities, meditation and mindfulness classes. These are things that helped me while a client and after when back home repairing relationships that have caused trauma of various levels, benefits of continuing individual treatment plans and Twelve Step programs. This also includes building support networks both with other clients here at P House and back in our own community. I have built some very close relationships here that will be in my life for a very long time. If you are really ready to do something about your addiction, the impact on your life and the life of countless others and do some hard work and return to have a meaningful life, and enjoy each day as a gift, then I recommend that you give serious consideration to seeking treatment at Prescott House. Can your life change? Yes. Will it be overnight? No, but each day you can continue to grow a little, enjoy life and be grateful. Bob G

I went to decision point on a 30 day program. Where to even begin about this place…read more... The detox center to decision point was absolutely incredible! The staff was very attentive & helped in all ways possible! They made sure we had snacks & were well entertained, they made sure to help during my withdraws and my urges! I appreciate them to a full extent!! The BHTs were saints they were always working long hours with adults who were lost & broken trying to find their way, they were very understanding of why we were there & what we need, they were always easy to talk to and attentive to our needs, the group sessions we would have in the community room was so great it was a huge insight to what everyone was going thru & what lead them to being there, the ways they gave us resources to achieve sobriety was very helpful! The nurses were average, they pretty seemed to be there for their checks like it was a 9-5 not really helpful besides doing their job. Now about the center! OH MY LORD ! The staff of the center was absolutely terrible! The director Jill was rude & kept herself on a pedestal as if she wasn't once in our shoes, she would use thing disclosed to our therapist to her advantage in a disrespectful manner, the so called "therapist" were not therapists at all, if things were uncontrollable for them or they couldn't figure out ways to handle situations they would send you to the physic ward for a 24-72 hour depending on the situation, I had a panic attack during a session & was sent to the physic ward when asked if I could sit outside for fresh air to calm down & be able to breathe they denied me & had me admitted to the physic ward for a 24 hour hold during my time there my roommate stole my clothing, my coloring pencils & my markers. When brought to jills ( the director ) attention she called me a liar & said that's not possible when given a note to her that was left on my bed from my roommate she took it & ripped it up acting like I was still lying, she later kicked me out of the program called my mother "who keep in mind was not allowed to be contacted due to her not being my main point of contact, telling my mother that I left the program when I didn't I was 1 week away from graduation, she didn't want to give me any of my case files or information, she adjusted my therapy sessions stating I did not do them but I did I did EMDR sessions which is physic therapy & and family therapy as well ( which my mother & father both were apart of ). The rules of the facility is absolutely awful...they strip you rights to yourself, so prior to going I recommend trusting someone close to pay your bills because if not they will not pay your bills for you, make sure to have enough personal money because you will not have access to this, you do not have access to your phone nor accounts. You're only able to meet with your case worker 1 every 2 weeks in a 30 day program that's 2 times a month if request is approved..you will be taken to the des office to get food stamps which your only allowed to spend 55$ a week on food which would last no more then a few days & if unable to get food stamps they will take you the food bank for a food box. ( better off getting a food box then using food stamps ) you get more food that last longer. It took them 2 weeks to give me access to my belongings such as my personal clothing, my hygiene products & my books & coloring things to help keep my mind at ease. Bed checks were done every 15 mins ( which is not bad but them having to shine a flashlight in your face every 15 mins can be pretty disturbing when trying to sleep. The child locks on the tvs were unnecessary so you were not able to watch anything besides children shows & networks. The Your family can not contact you for 2 weeks as & family visit are not allowed for 3 weeks into your 30 day program.. The group sessions were insanely unnecessary and overwhelming causing many triggers...yes many of them did help when we would have speaker meetings and group discussions but the course of putting one person in the middle of a circle & exposing all their dirty laundry is not helpful in any way yes we're all there for same reasons and many different but it does not mean to EXPOSE THE THINGS I DISCLOSE BEHIND CLOSED DOORS ! We are not allowed to go anywhere but to the park once a week on Sundays for 2 hours, it can be pretty overwhelming when you have no outings or outlets to express yourself during that time.. I do agree that even with the centers terrible actions and behaviors my overall experience was alright. I'm currently one year sober and happier then ever I'm thankful for the BHTs and the group speakers that we had in grateful for the many different people and walks of life I met during my stay
