Needed gas and we were driving from Croatia back to Germany... Found this place as we were…read morestopping for gas. This incredible restaurant offered the BEST CHINESE food any of us have ever tasted in Germany! Ranging from three (3) to six (6) years residency on this continent! We each for some odd coincidence all requested fried duck but each with different sauces. I ordered the Fried Duck with Special House sauce which was was skeptical about because I typically order curry sauce with my duck but WOW... my choice was definitely the biggest hit of the table! All other parties definitely enjoyed my sauce that by the end of the dinner, mine was almost out and everyone else's bowls were still almost full (hahahaha: their choices were the curry sauce & spicy sauce, - something in the 80-90s menu number/mine was a T#, in the beginning of the menu). Not only was the duck cooked to perfection, the rice was perfect and unlimited in portions. They also had AMAZING choices of dim sum and dumplings! Be advised that you need to request the menu for that, it won't be on the main dish menu. Another thing that really tickled my tummy was that they gave us a FREE drink of the most delicious plum wine it was so good and seriously, COMPLIMENTARY!!! Fortune cookies were also given and we all definitely loved the words of wisdom. No complaints about this restaurant at all. Now, not only is the service and food SUPERB, the restaurant decor was AMAZING! They have the cutest turtles who are so smart and so sweet!!! I was so in love with the turtles that I took many photos and videos of them. It was adorable because they would FOLLOW ME WHEREVER I WENT! I'm sure they just wanted food but the attention from their species was unforgettable and something I have never experienced. On the way out, I noticed a BEAUTIFUL AQUARIUM in the front that we did not have a chance to explore due to time constraints! So if you go, I hope you enjoy the ambience, decor, and animals- not to mention the AMAZING FOOD! I recommend my dish fried duck with special house sauce and any selection in the dumpling/dim sum menu ENJOY!!

So I originally came from the greater Chinese region, spent about a decade in the U.S. across 3…read moredifferent States, and have now been living in Germany for about 7 years (1 year in the north, 2 years in the middle and now in the south). In between my main residencies, I've lived and worked in several other countries. Taking my background into consideration, which is that my palate is definitely not authentically anything, but I have tasted a lot of different variations of food in general, I find this Chinese restaurant generally quite tasty. To be clear, not all the dishes are to my liking, and they are very greasy... but come on, at least this part is very authentic. The dishes that I find are made well, to be honest, I find them really quite tasty. I typically...always...only... go with the following: M.10 pan fried dumplings L3 thinly sliced 5-spice beef topped with Chinese chili pesto C1 tender sliced beef cooked in soupy spicy sauce (this dish is quite massive) C3 fried spiced chicken with fresh pepper, dry chili and szechuan pepper C10 shrimp (with shell) tossed with dry chili and szechuan pepper S1 Mapo tofu S4 stir-fry of chinese chive, bean sprout and chewy 5-spice tofu Keep in mind, the dishes are portioned in a rather Chinese way, meaning they are meant for sharing. You are not supposed to get 1 dish and just eat that with rice... unfortunately that's not how these type of restaurants work in Asia. If I would go alone, I'd typically get 2 dishes and expect A LOT of takeaway... so usually if I am alone, I just directly do takeaway :D I recommend that you go with at least 2 people... if you are 2, and are not too hungry or have small appetite in general, get a small dish or starter plus one main dish. If you want to eat a decent size meal, get 2 main dishes (or even plus a small dish / starter). I've done 3 main dishes in the past with just myself and another person, we couldn't manage without leftover / takeaway. So, best to go with 3+ I know the reviews about them are very mixed online, I have mix feelings too. But I've been going there for 4 years now, and I reckon that they've addressed some of the complaints / issues mentioned online, and at the moment, I find both the food and service quality quite good.

I have eaten here a few times now and last night seven of us went for dinner here. We ordered many…read moreof the traditional dishes off the menu and I had a chance to sample quite a few things. Loved each and every dish. I was running really late getting to dinner, so I asked my friends to preorder my food. The owner knew it was me and, he had recently read my Yelp review. Shortly after I arrived he came out with a dish of braised beef spiced just the way I like it and informed the guests "it's a Sam special". I felt so privileged for a moment :-))) And it was perfect ;-)) We had a Chinese friend with us and, she and her husband had lived in the Szechwan province for some years and, the husband remarked that, the pork dish was the best he had ever had and, even better than his wife's Szechwan style pork (which he thought was the best until last night). It was sort of a proud moment for me :-)) they are discovering what I already knew ;-)) So yea for spice lovers and lovers of Szechwan style cuisine, check it out. Let the pepper numb your tongue (it's a characteristic of Szechwan pepper) and enjoy the intense flavours. This is not a place for many people who don't like spicy food and, we had three such people in our group last night. I think they all loved it in the end. If you are willing to let your palette wander for a bit, the food might really surprise you. This is probably the first Chinese place in Munich, I would add to my "Asian in Munich" list :-)

After trying the duck here (and proceeding to come back for the next three evenings for the exact…read moresame dinner), my dad, a typical northeast China expat, has decided that he will not and can not eat Beijing roast duck from anywhere else--not even Beijing! We got the duck noodle soup and duck with chop suey veggies (if you couldn't tell, we just really wanted duck). Fortunately the duck in both dishes came in generously abundant portions. The duck in the duck noodle soup was quite outstanding. The noodles and the soup were pretty typical for a Chinese restaurant, but the duck--oh the duck! It was the perfect balance between chewy and tender, covered with a crispy layer of skin that held just the slightest hint of yummy fat without oozing all over and making you feel sick and worried about the potential of developing atherosclerosis. The noodle soup really let the duck take the spotlight. The duck with chop suey veggies came with a huge bowl of mediocre rice. The veggies were drenched in a little too much sauce, and the duck seemed to have been deep fried, which was disappointing. While the crispy exterior was made more crispy, the oil from the frying unfortunately drowned out the subtle flavors that duck naturally carries. All in all, a pretty authentic place and seemingly cleaner than other places of the same caliber. Duck was the highlight of our meal, and the duck flesh was also pleasantly "cleaner" (in that it exuded a lot less fat) than previous experiences in both the US and China. Definitely worth trying out, both for the local German looking for an Asian restaurant and for the Chinese tourist hoping for a familiar meal.
