I came here and tried their pulled chicken sandwich, which I liked a lot. They also had a Reese's with a potato chip inside. The potato chip inside- you don't really taste the saltiness of it because it's covered by the chocolate all around, yet it leaves a pleasant crunchiness and it works. This is the coolest gas station that I've seen in this area. The lot is huge so plenty of parking. Tons of gas pumps. Outside there are at least 6 picnic tables. Inside is clean and spacious with additional seating. You can order your food (like wawa) but I didn't order grub this time. They advertise world famous fried chicken. I'm not sure if I'm ready to have chicken from a gas station :) but I will try it at least once so I will need to do a follow up review. I usually see these huge gas stations down south so it's nice to see one in our area. I'll definitely be back. read more

I was happy with this place once. But today at 7:30, Royal Farms showed me why they can never overtake Wawa in this area. A grand total of two breakfast sandwiches were ready in the case, and both were Spam and egg. Only one person was working the Deli counter and only one at the register. They are clearly understaffed. As a result, a visit that would have taken me a few minutes at Wawa took nearly 15 here just to get a couple of sandwiches and coffee. And it wasn't even crowded. Maybe they're struggling here and can't get enough support for other reasons. But it's clear this particular location is struggling now. Which is a shame because I generally have liked the food better here than Wawa. I'm one of the few. But the customer experience has tanked. So now that food? Well I ordered two specialty made breakfast sandwiches. Disappointed that they use regular bread as a choice instead of a bagel or English muffin. The turkey sausage tasted way over seasoned. The bread came out chewy and stale from the oven. And this was a freshly made one. The chicken one I ordered wasn't bad but it was also chewy and not easy to eat. I can't believe how bad it was today. Disappointed isn't the word. I've always liked the chicken. I do like the coffee. But today's experience is not going to make me want to go out of my way to come here often. read more

I was pumping gas and starving after a frantic shopping session. My thoughts were answered by a sign: 8 pieces $8. Why would I not? After paying for my order in a nearly empty store, I was told that the chicken thighs would take ~15 minutes. Sure, I'll wait for "world famous". Side note: while waiting I heard a guy seriously pissed off that none of the to-go coffee lids fit any of the cups. The staff apologized but had no solution. I think he walked out and probably went to Wawa. Twenty minutes later the thighs are done. My order is bagged & I race home to dive in. The chicken wasn't bad by any stretch. I would give it a solid, meh. And maybe a little salty for our taste buds. The kicker is that after a 20 minute wait we got no thighs. Four breast but null on the thighs!! They probably would have tasted even better coming right out of the fryer. I'd like to think that the guy bagging up the bird was trying to do me a solid with the 4 breasts since most 4 year olds can tell the difference. I'll likely never know since this was a meal on a whim that I have no intention of repeating any time soon. Next time I'll hold out for Wawa. read more

I was glad to see Royal Farms expand close to home. Royal Farms is a restaurant that brings such nostalgia. I remember going to Royal Farms religiously during my good ole college years in Maryland! I decided to check out the new store and I noticed how large and spacious it was. The setup of the store is similar to Wawa except they specialize in chicken. I haven't tried their chicken since I was in college and I remember it being delicious so I was excited to see if it still had that delicious taste. Royal Farms has a touch screen menu to pre order your food. I decided to get 2 pieces of chicken and a order of potato wedges. After I finish ordering my food I noticed that it was a little pricey. My order came to 8.00 and I know I would've saved money if I went to KFC or Popeyes. When I tried my food it was not bad. The chicken was crispy and spicy however the potato wedges lacked flavor and was a little too thick for me. I rather stick to KFC plus I'll save money! Overall Royal Farms is just ok, I'll go back however I won't be in a hurry to do so! read more

Royal Farms are pretty new here in the Philadelphia metro area, and this was my first visit to one. I've heard their fried chicken is 'famous', so I decided to stop and check it out. The chicken seemed fresh and hot, which is a good thing for my visit during the middle of the afternoon; it was a Saturday, so I'd guess that business is pretty brisk...but it wasn't busy at all during this first shot. It's a great value for what you get for the money - the box of 2-piece white with potato wedges and bun was jam packed full! You can tell when chicken has been frozen, because the meat attached to the bone is a darker color; this didn't happen with Royal Farms' chicken! Yeah the chicken was fresh and crispy, but I can't say that it was a WOW moment for me--I happen to prefer bit of spice to my chicken. I'm not sure there was any spice to this at all, but I'd rather not brand it as bland. Would I go out of my way again to get it? No; but, I certainly was not disappointed with it. The Royal Farm building was beautiful; you could tell that it was still relatively new. It's very spacious, has cool wooden accents, a huge line of gas pumps. The peeps that work there were very nice. I didn't like the weird bathroom hand-washing station, it had an hand air-blower that I didn't feel all that comfortable sticking my hands into (the hand space was pretty small). Otherwise, it was a check on my list of places to visit. Now I have a closer one here in Philly off Aramingo that just opened, so I probably wouldn't go out of my way again to location. But for you in this Delaware Country area, it's one of your best options outside of Wawa. read more

I usually have a wonderful experience at Royal Farms. But the location on Macdade in Delaware County is the worst. The manager is always on the phone when you arrive at the store. THIS IS NO WAWA The only good thing about the new Royal Farms is the better gasoline prices. I stopped by to fill up my car up and looked for the window washer stick, The window washer stick was there, but there was no washing fluids in the bins anywhere. Very frustrating. I also tried the chicken sandwich. It was terrible. The meat was warm and dry. Chick o Filet or Popeyes is ten times better. The coffee is good and the management is unfriendly to law enforcement officers. Last, it is very difficult to enter the Royal Farms parking lot. It involves a long turn into the premise. read more

Newly opened Royal Farms so on this rainy day no one wanted to cook so I figured everyone is always raving about the chicken I'm going to pick some up. Just like ways you order on the computer which to me was so confusing of course being my first time here. This lady name Theresa help me out with trying to figure out I'm going to feed a family of 3 seems I had to get individual boxes because their minimum for a family was 8 pieces waaay to much chicken. The chicken is unbelievably good for a gas station / restaurant stop. Wawa is great for hoagies and beverages however their quality of there are other meat products seems process. Similar to have Dunkin Donuts sandwiches have this nasty fake taste. However, the service is what is the main issue. The workers don't really seem all that enthused to be there and God knows what they probably even pay them. Just left there and witnessed a male cashier berating a young female cashier in front of everyone. She stood there at the register with tears in her eyes. I visited the rohrerstown Lancaster pa store location. I purchased a Chicago hotdog . After a long shift as a nurse I just wanted something quick to eat . I got home and ate half the hotdog , looked down and noticed the bread was all moldy . Immediately I felt sick to my stomach. I tired calling the store over 5 times but no answer. I went in to talk to the store manger. She apologized and did refund me $2.99 for the hotdog . I ask her how something like this could be missed . She said that the gentlemen who made my hotdog notice the whole pack of bread as moldy . I'm sorry but I will no longer eat here . This was my first and last time . I feel sick to my stomach . A refund isn't enough . Their employees need better training . The whole time I was explaining myself they were laughing . I don't find anything funny about this . I consumed something moldy on behalf of your company and employees . First time going to Royal Farms and was surprised how nice it was inside. That being said, my experience was horrible. Ordered a simple breakfast sandwich and waited 10 minutes to finally realize they haven't even started making it yet. I was the only customer in the store. Workers are obviously uninterested and unmotivated. I was on a time crunch so I just left in anger after paying and waiting for a sandwich I never got. A great new addition to Delaware County. It's good to see someone giving Wawa a run for their money. I'm sure we have all noticed how the little independent gas stations within a few blocks of new Wawa gas store close when a new Wawa gas stores opens. Royal Farms is huge in the Maryland area. They're known for their fried chicken. Which IS quite tasty. I've tried their breakfast sandwiches and have no problem saying they don't come close to Wawa's breakfast sandwiches. They definitely need to get back in the kitchen and figure out a better product to put out for their morning line up! read more

My hubby and I decided to try their World Famous fried chicken. It was awful. The chicken was overdone and greasy and cost $22.50!!!! I contacted the company and they apologized and sent a gift card for the $22.50. My hubby stopped their again, got 3 wings and 3 legs at a cost of $11.90. for wings.....and legs. Worst food ever! Dried chicken just sitting under the heat lamp. Soggy fries! Mac and cheese in a container in warmer that is all stuck together and dried out! Sandwiches are not much better. Soggy bread falls apart while eating and to expensive for being fast food! Go to wawa instead!!! read more

Store was clean, well stocked and brightly lit. Cashier was very pleasant gentleman. This was my first time there and I was very impressed. Wanted to try their "famous" chicken so I got a chicken club sandwich and a small order of western fries. BOY WAS I DISAPPOINTED!!! the fries were horrible -- tasted like they were microwaved....hot but chewy in spots and hard in others. Okay, no problem - they are "famous" for the chicken so let's try that. A very nice looking sandwich!!! I enjoyed it (very good white meat) until I found myself chewing on a chicken bone. I watched the woman pull apart the chicken and this bone was sizable so I don't know how she missed it. Unfortunately, that did it for me -- no more chicken sandwiches or fries from there. Gloucester City NJ location always has room temperature food under lights. Empty coffee pots, messy coffee stations, broken or empty slushy machines. The staff is full but not very welcoming. For a new location I would expect this sort of service to take a longer time to exist. read more

I was in the store last week and the employee told me my order was ready, o I'm sorry the side of gravy is missing, i said. He proceeds to say "o it's coming right up" knowing that it's literally right there behind the counter! With that he puts it up for me, i go to pick it up and the lid is not on properly!!! My hand got burned, bad enough that it needed burn medication, not one employee tried to assist me or even offer me a napkin or towel!!! Not an "I'm sorry about that are you ok??" I had to frantically ask him where there were some napkins to get the boiling liquid off my skin! He pointed, never came from behind the counter, and said over there....over where??? As he outs the lid on the container, but never wipes the container off, right there...nope still don't see them!!! After another customer finding them and getting them for me i proceeded to go to the front and ask for a manager. The man at the register says that would be me. Not stopping what he was doing either he just abruptly handed me a piece of paper and said just write your name and number, someone will call you right away and about his business he went! My husband and I went to Royal Farms to check it out. We had heard the chicken was AWESOME!!! Please keep in mind that we are VERY PICKY EATERS and don't like Popeyes or KFC anymore When we arrived it was a clean and positive atmosphere. We both ordered a 4 piece all white meat. The chicken was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!! The gentleman who took care of us was so nice and he was extremely helpful We were a little confused when it came to ordering our food but the gentleman behind the counter took off his gloves and came from behind the counter to help us. You don't find customer service like that anymore. The people actually do like there jobs and it shows in so many ways. I didn't see one staff on their cell phones. They actually interacted with the customers. I also want to say a HUGE THANK YOU to Steve and Aaron. They were the two staff members that were so kind and helpful. I didn't catch the name of the cashier but she was pleasant and had a smile, like she actually wanted to be there.
