Stopped to grab a quick dinner on the road (had a 2.5 hour drive ahead). Store was clean and well-lit. Ordered a chicken tender meal at the kiosk. 5 chicken tenders and western fries with jalapeño cheese. Chicken tenders were huge - 2 of them were about the size of a whole chicken breast. Crispy, hot, and juicy. Western fries were good. Only issue is the packaging, they tend to get soggy sitting in their cardboard container. They were still tasty. They are broasted in the same coating as the chicken. Dipped in the cheese they are good. I grabbed a lemon-lime seltzer water to wash it down. I was surprised by the overwhelming "diet" taste. I regularly drink seltzer, it never tasted like this. Reading the label I saw it had Splenda. My bad for not checking. Ordering food was easy, self-checkout was quick. Restroom was clean. Staff was friendly. There is also a car wash on site. read more

I highly suggest not waisting you money at this location in Dover, PA. My food order, waffle breakfast sandwich with chicken, egg, and cheese had no egg. I drove back to the store for a refund and to return the sandwich and waited in line. I get to the cashier and explain that theres no egg and I just want a refund. I was told I had to waite untill the other customers in line behind me were waited on. I was the next customer. So I waited and paid for my food, had to drive back, waited in line, and you wanted me to wait even longer. Its friday at noon, your line is long and forever growing. Its not the first time that my orders have been like this. Most times I just said what ever and ate it. Tried their "World Famous Fried Chicken" for the first time. 8 piece box was greasy and meat was very dry and overcooked. Obviously not fresh cooked, had to have been sitting in the warming bin a long long time. Don't bother, have no idea how it could be labeled Word Famous. read more

The car wash sucked. Paid 14 dollars. The rubber cleaners did not rub onto my truck only partially. The front hood did not get wiped at all!! My vehicle looked worse after the wash. Total scam. All I could do was laugh at how ridiculous it was. Never again. If you want to pay for a water dumb and no scrub just park your car outside and wait for rain, that will do a much better job then this wash. read more

Ordered a 12 piece chicken and it was so bad it's inexcusable. They must not get rid of chicken when it sits for a few hours because it was all dried up shoe leather. Also, they don't filter/replace the oil when it should be done because the chicken also had a terrible burnt oil taste. If your in a bind for dinner because you forgot to thaw something out then stop at the gas station fill up the tank and go get a family meal. First to correct other reviewer Russell, it's "greasy", not "greesy". Secondly, Russell, the chicken is fried in oil, hence the term "fried chicken". When something is fried in hot oil, it is sealed and doesn't absorb any " greese" unless it's overcooked. I have ate there several times and mostly have had the chicken each time. While at times it is better than other times, it is still delicious at it's worst. If you order fried anything, expect some "greese". ;) read more

This weekend there was a long wait for chicken around 20-25 minutes. Only for it to have a burnt taste to it. Usually late at night they close down the fryers and serve food that's been sitting for a while. When I respectfully request food that isn't dried out and old they get an attitude. I have no problem with the cleanliness of the store but I do have a problem with them working in the food area but don't want to work. Recently dug up an old building and put this place in. Except for that fact they don't have anything that wasn't already within a few blocks. Oh, unless you're thinking of their way over greesy chicken. I got it once to try it out since some friends were raving about it. CAR WASH REVIEW Save your money on the car wash. i specifically drove several miles because theirs is "touchless". Nothing to beat your car to death. I didn't choose the cheapest option either. This barely got the dust off, didn't touch the dirt. I guess that is where "touchless" come in. I wash my car faithfully every week, sometimes by hand, so it was not overly dirty. read more

The bathroom was ok. One urinal, one stall. I don't recall a lock. It was clean enough, nothing made me say, "wow this is spotless"...but nothing made me disgusted either. The lack of hand towels was disheartening. There is an air dryer...but I like using hand towels. It's an ok bathroom that I would use again. But I'll have to go back to make sure there's a lock. If there is, then this is a recommend. If not, that's a different story. Stay tuned. -x. UPDATE 2/2/16. There was no lock. And last I went it was a bit dirty. Wanting Rofo? GO ELSEWHERE! Frequent this location due to its close proximity to my home and would consider myself a semi-regular customer. My fault for trying to self-checkout and then getting confused with the kiosk/scanner. Asked thin brunette with too much eyeshadow to please cancel it because I didn't want to fight with the thing and why it wasn't working and her response was to blank stare at me and then without saying "DUH" but she may as well have, rudely and cruelly said "there's a button for that RIGHT there....." like I should've obviously seen it. Got upset by how she spoke to me, told her she didn't need to talk to anyone like they're dumb and the store manager chimed in the middle and asked me to leave since I'm having such a bad day I don't need to be in her store ruining everyone else's day. My day was just fine prior to being talked to like I'm stupid. Worked in customer service my whole life. If you see/hear someone obviously struggling with something, how about lending a kind hand of help like a good employee instead of looking at a person sideways and talking to them like they're dumb. I e-mailed Royal Farms customer service on 6.14.17 and was given a 'canned' response that they would contact me 'shortly'. On 6.16.17 I had not been contacted and e-mailed back questioning if they actually had a customer service department. Today 6.24.17 there has still been no response. I have only experienced this same lack of concern for me as a customer by one other establishment wherein there was no obligation to respond to a complaint. We will never rely on placing a large order again due to the incompetence and total lack of concern. My original e-mail is as follows..... We have enjoyed Royal Farms chicken for quite some time but experienced a disappointing issue recently. On June 8 we placed an order for 50 pieces of chicken (were told it would be 56 since we ordered dark meat) to be prepared for Saturday June 10 at 2 pm and assured there would be no problem. This was to be for a surprise party. Early Saturday morning my wife drove to the location, paid for the order, and again confirmed all would be ready by 2 pm. In order to maintain the "surprise" she asked her mother to pick up the order. Upon arrival she was told that it "was not quite ready". She sat in her car for 45-60 minutes, very much given the impression by the surprised looks from the personnel that it had not even been started until 2 pm. Needless to say it became available well after it was required. We consider this completely unacceptable and inefficient. We had a 6 foot Subway sandwich packaged and ready on time and would have expected no less from Royal Farms. Should we ever choose to use this service again, we will take "being ready on time" with a grain of salt. read more

I've been here quite a bit, and I'm now to the point of never returning. First off, they probably spent millions of dollars to build the place, outside and inside is nice looking. And yet all of that goes down the toilet because of the service. Too many times I go in to see a huge line and only one person on the register. This is practically all the time. Secondly is they're food. I've ordered a 20 piece of chicken 3 times now and each time something was wrong with it. One time the breast was undercooked, another time there was a drum missing and a third time they replaced a breast with a drum. I've tried their chicken strips, both times it was terrible. Dried and rubbery. I've had chicken strips at Weis down the street, you can see the time right on the bag, so I know I've had strips that are 2 hours old and they were just fine, still moist. So they must be keeping the same strips in that heat box for who knows how many hours until they sell them out. I'm keeping away from this place from here on out read more

Famous for their fried chicken and their Western Fries , other made-to-order foods are quite good as well...try the chicken salad. (This location?) Doesn't post its hours, and looks well lit and open for business until you find yourself yanking on a locked door. Some staff are the roll-your-eyes, not so friendly type. Learned today that Royal Farms stopped coupon for coffee with gas. And they won't honor the receipts of gas that I already purchased. They won't see me again. Lots more places to buy gas (and I buy a lot). read more
