My 2021 BMW X5 had started to show its age, racking up 135k miles. I walked into the dealership with a pretty clear goal: find the most affordable option that still felt satisfying after driving a luxury vehicle for years. I shared my situation with the sales team--my oldest just made me a grandpa (yes, I'm thrilled!), my second is graduating high school and heading to an out-of-state university, and I've still got one more at home, three years younger. In short, I needed something reliable, comfortable, and budget-friendly. I test-drove a few cars that just didn't hit the mark. That's when salesman Jordan Jernigan and his manager Brian suggested I try something different: an electric vehicle, specifically the 2025 Equinox EV. After trying out a few models, they even brought in a custom car just for me to test. From start to finish, they were honest, transparent, and genuinely helpful. No games, no pressure--just straightforward answers and a no-haggle price that worked for my budget and honestly exceeded my expectations. A big thank you to Jordan, Brian, and Dillon (the finance guy) for making what could've been a stressful process into a smooth and painless experience. Not everyone in this business is on the level--but these guys are. Highly recommend.

I called and asked for the Sales Manager, Kevin. I was told he was off that day, so I ended up sending him an email. I didn't expect to hear anything that day, but later that evening I received a phone call from Chris Mills. He told me Kevin had received my email and asked him to give me a call. We had a great conversation and that was just the start of my Sea View experience. The car was so new to their lot they only had one stock photo of the vehicle. Chris sent me a whole photo shoot of the car, better than any website I have ever seen. His communication was phenomenal and his patience was endless. Chris answered every question I asked... even the ones I knew were stupid... he never made me feel that way. He treated me like I was buying a Rolls Royce even though I was buying a pre-owned car that was already well below asking price. Every call, every email, every text was answered. Chris walked me through the entire process remotely. He worked with my insurance agent, NYS DMV, and every single thing was in place when I was finally able to make it down to the dealership. The entire process was flawless and the easiest car buying experience I ever had. I had terrible experiences trying to purchase a car closer to home. One dealership never returned my call and another dealership lost the car I was hoping to purchase. I felt like I was begging dealers to sell me their vehicles. So I really didn't have a good feeling going into this sale at Sea View... but WOW was I impressed. This was honestly the best car buying experience I ever had. I cannot say enough about Kevin and Chris. I only wish their dealership was closer to me, but it won't stop me from buying another car from them. They will be the first dealer I call.

I got them down to a close to what I wanted OTD price, but two days later I had a question on the vehicle's capacity sticker. So, I went to the dealership and stood by the unit on the lot. I then called my salesperson (Travis) on my cellphone and asked my legitimate question about the cargo capacity sticker as it varies by vehicle and how they are equipped. I asked for a picture of it. Travis told me. "It's out on a test drive with another customer and if it doesn't sell, I'll get back to you." I was standing right next to it (while they claimed it was currently out on a test drive). I was ready to buy that day, but glad I didn't. And no, it hadn't just come back. I had been there for a couple of hours inspecting it before calling him. I got the deal I wanted elsewhere. I'm all for the nature of the business and the fact that they need to max profit and the customer max savings. But when there is bold-faced lying, that's when I walk. If you want a deal, do not go into this or any dealership at all. Do it all in writing and force them to give you the best OTD price in writing (itemized). All of the "Can I get you coffee?" while they disappear for 20 minutes at a time, is old-fashioned and stupid. There are now even AI agents that will negotiate for you under a bogus e-mail address, to start the process. Don't fall for the "schedule an appointment" nonsense. It's all a stupid tactic. In writing, get the OTD price, take it with you, then do the test drive, and finalize.

Disappointing experience - problems started 28 days after purchase…read more Review: Unfortunately, my experience with this company was very disappointing. I purchased my vehicle approximately four months ago, and I strongly suggest that anyone searching for a car also consider dealerships with a better consumer history. Only 28 days after the purchase, I began experiencing mechanical issues that could affect the engine. Although the company performed repairs, the same problems continued to return repeatedly within less than three months. In addition, I do not believe the vehicle was properly inspected before delivery. The car was handed over with the oil close to its limit and with very low fluid levels in several systems that should have been properly filled. The tires were also already very worn and had to be replaced within just four months. I have driven less than 2,000 miles, yet the vehicle has already presented multiple serious problems. Even when the 3-month warranty is activated, customers are still required to pay part of the repair costs, in addition to transportation expenses and time away from work. I paid about $6,000 as a down payment, and so far I have spent approximately $8,000 total, including installments and repair-related costs. When I tried to exchange the vehicle, I was told there were over 200 cars available, but I would still have to pay additional money to make the exchange. After all the loss and frustration, I was expected to pay even more just to get rid of a defective car. Another very important detail is that for vehicles with more than 60,000 miles, customers may be asked to sign documents waiving the 3-month consumer protection, which makes it extremely difficult to resolve serious defects later. My advice, especially to non-English speakers: * Never sign anything under pressure. * Take all documents home and translate every page before signing. * If any problem starts, communicate only by email to keep proper records. This experience caused me to completely lose trust in this business. No one spends this much money to end up with a car that brings stress instead of safety and peace. Please think very carefully before purchasing from this company.

I want to leave this review as a warning to anyone thinking about buying a car from this company…read more If you are planning to buy a car for more than $20,000 like I did, please consider looking at Facebook Marketplace first. You will probably find similar cars for half the price and the quality might honestly be the same. The difference is that when you buy from this company, you pay a lot more and still risk getting a broken car. In my experience, this company sells defective vehicles. The problem with my car started only 22 days after I bought it. Since then, I have reported the exact same issue five times, and the car has already been repaired four times for the same problem. After six months, the issue still continues. What is even more concerning is that during the purchase process they make you sign paperwork that includes a paragraph where you waive certain rights. I strongly recommend that anyone buying from them take the contract home and read every single line carefully before signing anything. I feel extremely disappointed and unsafe driving this car. No one should spend more than $20,000 on a vehicle and then have to deal with the same mechanical issue over and over again. If you have also had problems with this company, please share your experience in the comments. It would help other people understand how common these situations may be and help future buyers make a more informed decision. I truly hope this review helps someone avoid the same mistake I made. Since purchasing the vehicle, I have brought it back approximately 16 times for a combination of mechanical and electronic issues. These included persistent Apple CarPlay chirping noises, speaker crackling, sunroof issues, and other defects. Multiple parts were replaced over time, including the windshield and sunroof, yet the problems were never resolved. The technical issues alone were frustrating, but the customer service is the real reason I am selling this vehicle. Most recently, I was told--after the car was already in their possession--that I had "rusted rotors" and was upcharged for the service. Communication from Brian Friedentag was nonexistent. Despite asking to be notified when the car was ready, Brian refused to contact me, leaving me without a vehicle. When I finally reached out, I was abruptly asked, "How fast can you get here?" I took an Uber because I had Court the next morning, only to be handed a dirty loaner vehicle covered in bird droppings, completely unacceptable under any circumstances, let alone for a customer who has repeatedly returned due to unresolved issues. Brian's communication - condescending and rude as it was - seemed to insinuate that I was the blameworthy party, and there was only a "miscommunication." I recorded all of our conversations, so I can confirm that I did not "misunderstand." At no point was there accountability, proactive communication, or basic respect for my time. The tone from staff (namely, Brian in this scenario) was dismissive and unprofessional. I am selling this car this weekend, not because of the car itself, but because this dealership made ownership unbearable. If customer service matters to you at all, do not buy or service your vehicle here.

They replaced a head gasket and tried to charge me thousands more than what was agreed upon with my insurance company (thankfully my insurance stepped in). And magically, the work that was supposed to take days was somehow done in one. Red flag. When I picked my car up, every warning light on my dashboard was lit up -- something that never happened before. I immediately brought it back, and they tried to feed me a ridiculous story about "metal in my engine" and claimed their work couldn't have caused it. After running diagnostics again, it showed the engine timing was off -- which only happens if something's messed up with the chain. They swore they never touched it (even though you have to when doing that job). Then they had the nerve to say they'd have to charge me again to "tear down the engine" to figure out what went wrong -- after they're the ones who caused it. Bottom line: They broke it, lied about it, and tried to bill me again to fix their own mistake. Stay far away from this place unless you enjoy being scammed and gaslit. I've already filed a complaint with the BBB, and Eyewitness News will be hearing about this shop soon. Dealerships like this are exactly why people stop trusting mechanics. Acura of Ocean should be ashamed.
